I loved the early stuff, but after Rob Grant left it wasn't the same. The jokes were lamer than a three-legged horse they tried to jazz it up by using cgi and better production values, but it didn't work. The final nail was when Rimmer left, so i can't really see what benefit will come from having everyone go back over "the show".

I agree. Grant Naylor is dead. They should leave him be

They should let it die

I thought it generally increased in quality as the seasons went on.

One of my all time favourite lines was when they were all in the cockpit and Rimmer said to raise it from blue alert to red alert and Kryten said back "Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb..."

EDIT: Here's a vid :)

Sadly, I totally agree - it lost its magic for me when Grant left in season 7 iirc.

Yeah man +1: that was a great line.  Probably my tied to be my favourite along with -

Rimmer: 'We've lost them'
*cockpit explodes*
Rimmer: 'sorry... I was looking at the wrong screen'

Marooned:
lister is starving

Quote

RIMMER: Just a Pot Noodle.  Oh, and I found a tin of dog food in the tool
  cupboard.
LISTER: (Sighs.) Well.  Pretty obvious what gets eaten last.  I can't
  stand pot Noodles.

followed by the pay off of that line
Quote
LISTER: And you can take that look off your face:  like I'm doing
something disgusting.  I'm just trying to stay alive.
RIMMER: You're going to eat the dog food.
LISTER: I haven't eaten for six days.  Yes, I'm going to eat the dog
  food.
RIMMER: I'm sure the dog food will be lovely.
LISTER: This isn't dog food.  It's a piece of prime fillet steak in blue
cheese sauce.  It's been charcoal broiled in garlic butter.  Mmmmm.
Just smell that.  It's delicious.  Delicious.

He pops it into his mouth and swallows it.

LISTER: Well, now I know why dogs lick their testicles -- it's to take
away the taste of their food.
