Why 27 inch?
-
Going from 26", I may feel inadequate if I go smaller
-
60hz compared to 120/144hz?
Been reading that the human eye can only handle 60hz?
mmmmmm
-
120Hz or bust.
-
Considering this
Asus VG278H 27" Widescreen 3D Monitor Nvidia Solution - Black, Full HD 1920x1080, 120Hz, 50M:1, 16:9, 2ms, HDMI,DVI,DUB, Speaker & Earphone Jack $918.85
Asus GTX 770 DirectCU II Overclocked 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0 2x DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort $711.85
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $481.85
Intel Latest processor Haswell Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz 8MB LGA1150 (B85, H87,Z87 Motherboard Required) $493.35
$2600. that's a lot
Monitor comes with 3d kit, do I need 3d?

There is a huge improvement in vision especially if you look around a lot with 120hz screens.
If my frames drop below 80 or so I start to notice flicker.
For me anything over 90fps is sweet though, I can't really tell between 90 and 120.
I have 3D on my laptop. It is a bit of a momentary gimmick and not worth the money. I used it maybe twice.

ta.
So getting i7 4770, z87 pro mb, gtx770, asus 27" 144hz
rig is good?
-
I actually really like 3d, it brings out a lot of detail, but I don't think it's the best for FPS games as looking around so quickly hurts my head. =(
I wouldn't buy one monitor over another simply because it has 3d.
-
Only buying the Asus for the 144 hz now. 3D I could take it or leave it tbh
-
You can pick these up for a good price.

-
Might need to SLI.

Get an IPS. So much nicer to look at. At 144Hz the picture tends to suffer.
Also maybe you should wait to see which one map you're going to play 24/7 on BF4, then get a monitor that best displays that colour gamut.
-
That's pretty funny as you do make an excellent point.
I got the Asus 27" HE. Reviews say that it is geared more to 2d gaming with the ability to go to 3d if required thru purchasing the 3d kit.
Anyone want 2X 560ti's
AMD955 on Gigabyte UD5 board

Did you get the monitor? I got myself a Samsung SA700 120hz ++ only ever use it in 2D
-
That monitor is no longer available according to Samsung site, and at 23" would have seemed tiny to me stepping down from 26"
To answer your question, yes I got it. I'll let you know.
