I haven't been back playing CSGO for long, but it seems the dedicated servers have killed off any sort of community aspect that you used to get in source. I'd love nothing more than to go back to the good old days and be playing on some community servers.
Also....where'd all my rep go Just because i've been absent for a few years. hahaha
I wonder if the vote time might be too long. I notice that it doesn't enter the vote until the last few seconds.
This is just my theory, but I think the votemap has to be complete early enough for the vote to register, if there isn't enough time between the vote and the switch, then the vote doesn't count.
And I've noticed on GetSome it's about a 15 sec vote time.
Well seeing as the admins haven't told me to piss off yet, I'll throw in a couple of more requests/fixes.
Server 1 is dust 2 only, yet it gives the option to vote at the end of each match, then proceeds to ignore your vote. Also, the votes aren't limited to just the defuse maps, like its name suggests. My recommendation would be to make it rotate through the maps. The voting system removes the need to have a 24/7 server, because it will go to whatever maps the people on it want to play on. (If they want to keep playing dust 2, they can vote for it). Next, either have a separate hostage map server, or combine them onto one that just goes where it's voted to (this is my preference). I would also look at extending the rounds to 21 to give more time on a map. Sometimes the games can just go too quick to enjoy the map.
Well, all three seem to work now....but (please don't hate me). They're all competitive servers, which means no bots. This may be what you wanted, but I think at least 1 with bots would be good, cause at least you can play when there's no one else on the server. I just think it would help to get the servers populated again.
You must be starting to think I'm a pain....sorry for the troubles, but I am still having some issues.
Server #1 - Seems OK Server #2 - No go - err msg ([MM] Sending reservation request to 203.97.27.203:27025) Server #3 - Seems OK Server #4 - Connects, gets all the way to choosing sides then - Unknown command: clientinpconfig Disconnect: Your client has failed to authorize in time. Please reconnect or restart your game.
The error on server 2 may have something to do with the file gamemodes_server.txt (or so google tells me) and I have no idea what the error is on server 4
I hate to be a pain, but I'd really like to start playing on the servers, and maybe even get some people back on GetSome-CSGO
Just wondering if the CSGO servers are being kept up to date?
I have just got back into playing it and thought I'd come to these servers as this is where I spent all my time when playing source, but alas I cannot join the servers.
I can only assume that this means the servers are out of date.
If that's the case, is there any way I can persuade someone to update them, because I for one will start using them. And with the whole bots thing that they have now, when one person joins then more will follow, and you have something to do until others get there! Yay for bots?
