I might take you up on that offer, however my new nigerian based, err, my new company has the IT policy to get around. I will actually need it to generate in word format, as I am not producing reports, but financial plans that they will need to be able to change.
fair enough the nice thing about VBA is you can get around it policy...
i found a nice trick that enabled macros even if you had it disabled at domain level
The IT policy here blanket refuses the ability to load in trusted locations in office...

or write a macro that goes opens a named template and then copies it to your template.....
if you have sample files i might be able to knock something up for you or at least do all the havy code and then just leave comments and variablesstuff for you to fill in.
cheers, looking into those now. I know how to do a VBA in excel about copy and pasting, might have to learn how to do it regarding word docs.

Hey team,
I now work for a small boutique investment advisory firm and have been streamlining a bunch of processes. Something I have done is creating a tonne of macros for excel, now I am turning my attention towards word.
Does anyone know of a decent website where I can learn about creating a skeleton template which can pull data from other word docs. For example, every month we write up a market commentary, which would then feed through to the master template on call, right now it is all copy and paste.
Having a quick look, it looks like an XML structure would be the way to go? I have basic knowledge in coding, enough to get me through and I can learn (and find) what I need. Plus I don't get too complex.
If anyone knows of a good system, please let me know!
Ben

Arma 3 at the moment, variations of the new epoch mod, battle royale, wasteland. Arma 2 finally got uninstalled. Also, need to focus a little more time on State of Decay, have enjoyed that quite a lot.

Will do. I am also looking at upgrading ram, so curious to see how it all ties in.

holy balls. It takes a 1gb cache, 50mb RAM, additional power and CPU resources but fuck me! Not sure yet if it is beneficial, will leave it on for a week and see. November 2013 - when I bought it. Today - after looking into the rapid mode.

I currently have some kingston value ram, which has treated me well, but I'm looking at picking up some of this http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MEMGSK0361&qr=ec_BFS-B_56PB have a sale tonight so I can pick this up for $100. So, that being said, I have 2 x 4gb of slightly slower ram, is it detrimental to leave it in the system and run 16 gbs?

Whats the night time lapse like?
That is my next project, I haven't had a chance to do it. The battery isn't amazing, definitely need the added pack. If I can do it in a way where it is powered, I'll have a better chance.

at a bank... Don't want to feed the trolls, but this bank had a good year so they celebrated success. It's been a pretty tough few years so this year they looked after the high achievers.

I am not sure if I can directly link video. So here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf1V3LpeStMWas a work trip for the end of year awards. Great fun. Camera worked a charm. edit - i am not having a good time getting the quality of the video that I want uploaded. For some reason the first 30 seconds is in low quality, 1080p isn't an option until a little way in.

Thanks for the advice benlav I'll look into that once i get set up. What does line maintenance insurance cover?
hey man, sorry, missed this. I don't know all the detail behind it, but I pay the maintenance via telecom. We had a jack point which never worked, which meant we had no phone in the main part of the house. after like 2 years, i got sick of it as i wanted to bring the modem downstairs. I called telecom to ask them what I need to do, the lady said that as we have the line maintenance, she'll send out a technician who fixed it for free. So I think, if you don't have the cover, they provide services to your property, if you have it, they will provide services within the house. something like that. ask them, but it's good to have as you won't know the wiring very well.

Also check out powerline adapters as they can use the internal wiring throughout your house to share the internet as opposed to wifi. Really good for tv setups, if you have multiple internet connected devices next to the tv, say the bluray player, apple tv etc, all you would need is a cheap switch.
Also - when you are moving into a new house, I recommend taking up the line maintenance insurance at least while you settle in. Any wiring issues nearby will be covered. not sure if you need a landline to take that up though.
