If there was a culture that believed in homosexual families historically, they would have obviously died out for lack of a birthrate.

Religion != politics
Anglo-saxons were not angels either they did plenty of stupid shit like all the others. Oh come on. Some will argue anything, even comparing russias great purges and the japanese rape of korea/manchuria and china and even the spanish rape of the incas etc. Every race has had its moments but damn, thats reaching.

So err wasn't germany a christain based society in umm the late 1930's And what about america wasn't that founded as a christian nation yet they sure had alot of slaves and did alot of native bashing.
I'm not blaming christianity for that at all just sometimes the religion of a country has nothing to do with the crimes it commits.
The Japs are still around you know and they don't seem to be genocidal maniacs anymore and thats not thanks to being christian, A minority (0.7%) profess to Christianity. Thats why i said anglo-saxon/christian society. The slavic nations for instance have a very strong orthodox church yet have been brutalised and have brutalised others and not in the too distant past you may recall. Tens of millions in russia and tens of thousands in the Balkans. The mix of the culture/religion/geography has had a major impact on many nations yet we here in nz and oz and the uk and the usa have the right to disagree and not be arrested or censored. And Killer, i never said i was a christian, just someone who can understand the belief. And heres another reality check bud, the world is in chaos.

So that could be summed up by saying use common sense. Ethics are taught so realistically what rice said can't be summed up by saying use common sense. Of course on top of that are the different religious/cultural/geographic influences but i'm blessed to have been bought up in the Christian based society i have been, than say some animist African or Islamic anything and i also reckon the Christian nay sayers ought to thk their lucky stars too. Also thk your lucky stars it was a anglo saxon/christian based society that gave you the chance to voice your opinions as you do too. Look what the latins, japs, slavs etc. did to their "colonies".Genocidal maniacs them all. Heh, i've been so raped by the neg rep lately it's gonna be hard for some to give me more for the above comments.

the book of revelations is the worst book of all. ask most christians and they'll tell you global warming and everything thats happened recently was in revelations. 9/11 etc
Its so badly written you can apply almost any disaster to its writings if your gullible enough I wouldn't call it badly written but certainly it is left up to the interpretation of the church or individual. Personally i think its an incredibly interesting book. Trying to unlock a ancient mans trip to the future as such. The future if that was what he saw would have been incredibly frightening to see. Helicopters, massive cities reaching heights unknown, warfare so much more devastating than a archer/swordsman bloodbath. Who knows really but i keep my mind open even to Christianities sometimes unexplainable beliefs and also to some theories put forward by scientists and lets be real, both have some theories which rely on belief with no factual basis to them.

actually im attacking christians who quote facts like yourself saying to take some parts literally and other parts illiterally. whose to says which parts we are supposed to literally and which parts to not? i am supposed to take the first one literally but the second one not? time to find a new thread because afaic monkey you've been well and truly beaten Revelations is a transportation/vision of the future written by a man of ancient times. Not quite the same as the 10 commandments or the story of Daniel or Jesus or Soloman or David etc. I've never heard any Christian say they understand those writings clearly including ministers of the church. Funnily enough it seems non christians think they can interpret revelations though eh killer.

l sounds what your doing Where? I listen or read others points but come on, some of them are just not well thought out, researched or just plain misunderstood. Man why do people hate abortions so much...
If people didn't get them then imagine the stress they would have to go through attempting to raise a child balance school and possibly a job if they can't get family support.
All though they should have known about other methods of birth control that is irrelevant to the situation.
I would have raised every single child even by myself but i wasn't included in the equation. Oh yeah, the "councillor" asks you but your a male and the father yet still too minor a part of the picture. Fuckers. The bible was created along time ago by a bunch of church types getting together and throwing some old writings together. People did remember jesus just not all of them believed he was the son of god, some of them even killed him
Yes people at the time were outraged by this new religion infact at one point the roman empire was killing those who believed in it. Irony was many years later they were doing the same thing to people who DIDN'T believe in christianity. Must have been a cultural thing then eh. When in Rome, ya know

Killer has valid points to make but also makes some rather foolish statements at times too but then this is text, not a real conversation where one can discuss the finer points face to face and read the persons reactions emotionally and physically. I guess thats also why some of the brown nosers here get theirs outa joint. They react so quickly to a statement with out trying to understand other pov's in that txt. Their way or the highway. Pretty weak really but it seems to be the 21st century way.

or add your own!
so you're saying that a minority of christians are decent? and that a minority of them are accepting of homosexuality, birth control etc? in that case you're not christian...
poser. The majority boyo, not the minority. What is your experience within the Christian community to say otherwise? And i don't believe in "birth control" when it comes to abortion and I'm not a Christian as such but then again i've had to experience the nz birth control system with all its ease of access and seen at least 4 of my children "terminated" just because the timing didn't suit that particular female. I've also been in greenlanes clinic and seen children with their friends as support going through the same procedure. No parents in sight. Still at least they've stopped the spanking. I wonder when they will stop the murder. Anyways, i'm getting off topic but please, i have parents who have been christian all their lives along with a few bros and sis's and 40 years of it and i've never seen any rabid anti homo talk. Hell, i dislike homos more than any christian i know.

actually the earth isn't set into a "place" it might orbit etc but slowly we are moving out of our line. Why argue small points when you know what i am getting at. That being that we mere mortals have no ctl over earths placement, the speed it spins etc. and i doubt we ever will. I reckon you have to give the old fella who wrote those words in such ancient times some kudos because really, if we grabbed that dude now, even if he was the most forward thinking, intelligent person of those times and tried to explain how a tv works, including power, electronics, wireless transmission, glass tubes, plastic etc, etc., how would he even possibly understand it and then put it down in writing for the so called layman to understand. And those who keep bringing up the corrupt catholic church in historic times as a example of Christianity gone bad have to realize the amount of death and destruction caused by other older religions before hand in pre-historic times that are not written down. At least the modern form of Christianity teaches love, toleration and the lessons of right and wrong which guide the western civilization even today. The Christians i know don't hate homosexuals etc. but because they practice their form of sexual contact, they immediately have to accept that it is not right in the Christian mindset/belief structure, so they then forfeit the chance to teach others what is the right and wrong choice in regards to those beliefs. It would be hypocritical of them otherwise. Some of you guys must have very little contact with the decent christians out there or contact with rather radical types. Or your views are based on what you hear and read, whether it be biased or not. How can you possibly judge a belief like that and more seriously, how can you judge people just based on their beliefs. Thats no better than racism.

Sorry Killer but i don't ness support one theory more than the other. The 10 commandments were meant to be taken literally but some the books in the bible deal with the esoteric so you take the meaning as you perceive it. I feel you choose to pick a few lines to suit your argument/point. Lets get real, the 4 corners of the earth are simply nth/sth/est/wst whereas you have sought to use those words to support a spurious argument saying that the bible says that and therefore the earth was considered flat by those folk of those times. You have no facts to back this mindset up. And really, bar our orbit around the sun etc, our earth is set into place and cannot be moved. Its all in the interpretation eh.

hmm you believe in a old book instead of maths & science huh?.
lets start with the bibles description that the earth is flat!
dont forget the earth can never move!
So either you still believe the earth is flat or you believe science and math. Since you stated above you believe the bible, you obviously think the earth is flat?
Maths & Science: 1 Bible: -3 Come on dude, literal translations demean what could have been an intelligent answer.

i have only seen the pic before with the words " jesus loves you but i think your a cunt "underneath it.
Yea its a pretty funny post about CnC3, but finding bad examples of chrisitans has never been very hard. Finding bad examples of non-christians is yet far easier again.

Oh come on, a failed settlement and no mapping doesn't mean squat. Hell, some believe the chinese settled america/south americas/australia and nz and africa too....
Detailing the dinosaurs extinction, oh right, another THEORY!! Because they have no idea when the dinosaurs went extinct and for what reason.
And i'm quite willing to look up any relevant info in a reputable publication if you can find any that state their theories are now proven but mention wiki as a reference, then expect someone to have a giggle at ur expense.

Where are their bones?
If they rot away, then no fossils are left. Fossils are formed when an animal gets quickly covered in a layer of silt, sometimes deposited by a flood. The animal is then preserved and becomes fossilsed.
You have answered ur own question. 500 years ago, white man finally made it to the americas. They also managed to make the trip around africa. They had no idea how to longtitude. Don't talk to me about reams of info when you are daft enough to go to Wikipedia to get your info. The bible has nothing in it at all about white man being greater than the black or yellow man so maybe you really do need to read it before commenting. Marsupials are found all around the earth. I can't be bothered reading anymore Everyones an expert.....

I guess this is a problem of people taking the bible literary, which I know many christens do.
This is my view on the Noah flood, in that time, people only knew of a very small part of the world, as the rest had not been explored yet, so to them, their entire world was only as far as they could see.
So therefore when the flood happened, he presumed the entire world was flooded, as as far as he could see, there was only water, so he would have assumed the entire world was flooded. As for the ark, it wouldn't need to be that big, as it only had to carry the animals of that area, which wouldn't be that many. So why have so many different cultures around the world have a story about a great flood that covered the earth. Also, by Noah taking 1 pair of every kind of animal, it is also possible that he tool young ones , immature, small and needing far less food and also, as none may have been in heat, no agrressiveness. As someone else has said, insects not only float but could have surely taken a ride on the wreckage from the flood. Birds could have also used these means while keeping themselves well feed. Who's to say there weren't dinosaurs around only 500 or less years ago too? Wtf do u think dragons were? Hell, there are stories from the 1700 in which an Italian (as such) slew a beast called a dragon. How are fossils formed, really?, how are they formed. Not but creatures laying down to rot away. Some very narrow minded views being presented here. I believe the bible has all the answers to living a decent life in it but then to many people, a decent , well lived life is boring. Fuck as many chicks or guys as u can, abort several children, steal a few things, live with some one, have children, marry, divorce. etc. etc. Yep, the std good well lived life these days......
