General Chat / Christchurch Earthquake

so. fucking. over. it.

when will it stop? huh? And yeah, in some ways it was as bad as they're making it out to be on the news... not so bad for me personally - I was driving for the first one but at home for its bigger friend... that was NOT fun. Geonet stubbornly refuses to update but I'm thinking that last big one was bigger then the earlier big one. And there's been others in between. Fuckn earthquake swarms...

just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Hey Bitchi.....

Have Tweeterzored your quizzy thang (lotsa #eqnz ers in my stream), but I'd be interested in seeing what you're asking - don't wanna do the whole thang in case my one set of invalid experiences skews the results....

awesome, thx Zol
the questions are about media use of Cantabs over the last year: which media/communication methods worked or didn't, which ones they used to try & find out info about different things and other media/communication-y stuff. I've also got questions about length of time without power, location, emergency kit, transistor radio etc to see if some people/suburbs are more prepared these days. Mayor Bob reckons everyone's got an emergency kit now. I don't fink so... well, we don't (we're just lazy & we have most of that stuff around.... somewhere....)
And there's a part2 which has opportunities for longer answers/rants etc :welcoming:

I get the feeling there'll be heaps of this sort of stuff next year... I've applied for a couple of summer scholarships at UC, both are on EQ topics. I guess, if you can't beat 'em, study 'em! :playful:

Please feel free to post the link to fb/G+, email to friends/colleagues/whanau etc... the more responses I get, the more validity/meaning it has... which always pleases those who do the marking!

header tank is/was for the shower... that nice new shower we installed 3-4 years ago...

the only good part about watching all our repairs/renovations fall down was remembering all the things we hadn't gotten round to yet.... the to-do list on that house was still way longer than the 'done' list :o
