CoKayne - if you want to spend a little bit of time learning - i watched this chap : http://www.youtube.com/user/51ppycup#p/c/C1944506E041FE6E - there's quite a few episodes, but at least he's mildly entertaining and does go over stuff quite well.

Dwarf therapist is kind of essential ay :D (plus so is the mayday tileset -> http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.php)
