My old 99 ford courier towing my mates rb25det c33 laurel to taupo race track for a drifting open day, sold it because I have a work ute now so didn't ever use it. And now my work ute, 2009 toyota hilux that I use to tow around my drill and use during weekends etc

Few people might remember me, I was the annoying little 13yr old haha. Might have to get into CS again but I see there aren't any CSS servers?? Anyway heres a pic of me lol

Does the LDS in your name stand for Latter day saint? haha. D1 is $#@!.

Yup it does, but I don't go anymore, name just stuck tho.

Currently in the process of engine conversion etc. The old ca18de engine and auto trans has all come out, now have manual setup in, hydraulic handbreak, have a rb20det low km crate engine nearly ready to go in. Atm its just a standard 20det, but gonna get bigger injectors, turbo and a front facing plenum. Just got a new 500hp walbro fuel pump and my workmate is gonna set up a surge tank in the boot for me. Was wanting to go straight to a 25det and get my workmate to help me work that engine, but ended up getting the 20det because they're cheaper and its only for learning atm. Wait untill I get better at drifting before I upgrade to something more powerful. It's all a work in progress but being a diesel mechanic apparentice, my boss lets me use the workshop whenever I want which makes things 100x easier than tryna get under the car when its on axle stands n the garage haha.

Its New Plymouth, cops here love giving out tickets & stickers. I don't think I look like a trouble maker, I was just there to enjoy the day and show of my car. I even showed him the trailer and ute that was used to get me there, but it wasn't enough. It's fine tho, tickets were paid the following day, wasn't money I would have liked to spend on tickets since it was money I was saving to buy more parts for my engine but hey, just keep on saving and be more careful next time I go to car events.

All up was a $900 worth of fines. And not so much stupidity, just didn't travel far enough. It was an organized car event (council permission etc) in which legal and illegal cars are aloud to go. Unfortunately I got my car of the trailer about 100meters to early, you see I didn't realize I was on a public road, I thought I was in the grounds where the event was happening, so as you do, I backed my car off the trailer and didn't think twice about a seat belt because I was driving roughly 100meters to park my car, that's when the policeman flagged me to the side of the road where he informed me I was breaking the law. I tried explaining to him that it was a simple mistake on my behalf but even so, I still got the tickets. Its a purpose built track car, not made for the road thus why it was on a trailer going to a legal event. I'd hardly call myself a boyracer, I haven't done a skid on the roads or any other boyracer activities since I left high school lol.

No cert for the adjustable suspension, wheels sticking out of the guards, no wof or reg, not wearing a seat belt and having blacked out tail lights.

Hahaha whatever you say expert. Also when I said never been skidded in a previous post, I should have said has been well maintained or something along those lines. I only wanted to point that fact out, as most skyline's that people buy for the price I got mine, have been thrashed and are generally in bad condition.

My friend who owned the car before, I've known since I started high school, I was with him when he brought the car from some old guy in Wellington, I know it hasn't been skidded before me, unless you count dirty one wheelers on grass etc. I put the locky in. This car is one of the straightest skylines I have seen, and I live in New Plymouth, where pretty much everyone has one. If it wasn't for the poor paint job and skid rims on the back, it actually looks like a respectable car. Interior and exterior of the car is very tidy.

Are you doing Immersion English there?

No, I complete my course in 2 weeks, which takes a year to do. It's a pre-apprenticeship for mechanic. Once I finish in 2 weeks, I will receive my National Certificate in Motor Skills & Certificate in Auto mechanics, which also gave me enough credits to pass my level two and three NCEA.

You know that everyone in this thread knows more about cars than you and ldssmith?

I'm sure they do, and I don't really care, because I'm still learning, that's why I'm doing a course to up-skill myself as I'm only 17 and of course, don't know everything. But from doing this course one of the requirements is to do over 240 hours of work experience (working for free) which I have already completed, and they must have been happy with my work performance or something because I have a job when I finish in 2 weeks a diesel mechanic apprentice.

Taken last week, had just left class from new plymouth polytech and this guy rekon he would pull me over and try give me a ticket haha.
It's a straight body, no rust, leaks, dents or scratches, only downside is previous owner painted the car black but didn't sand the car back, so now the paint is fading hectik so I might paint it next couple of weeks. Not bad for 2grand tho, real tidy inside and owner before last was an old man so he would have nana'd this car, and I know it hasn't been skidded or anything before me cause I got this car from a mate haha. Should have kept it silver tho, would have looked sick.

Also was talking to a mate last night, I might be swapping my r32 front for his a31 cefiro front, I might have a Cefline soon haha

Changed oil and filter, drained water and topped it back up with premixed coolant, fixed my drivers door (it wouldnt lock or unlock), screwed in my front left guard (screws had fallen out with previous owner), cleaned out the inside with vacuum and washed outside of car, took my locky out haha. Then got my r32 a brand new AA warrant today with 6 month rego.

@DeeUnit. I might try the 25det turbo cause I have a mate who has one at his place.

Also about your sister and the 20e, they're the way to go. I use to have one in my c34 laurel, used fuck all petrol and never had problems with the engine and I thrashed it haha.

Hey anyone who knows bit about turbos and RB engine. I have a rb20det but am wanting to get a bigger turbo for it. I was looking at buying a t3/t4 but have been told it's to big and will make my 20det perform worse because of lag or something? Is there anyway to get around this. And I've been told to get a garret turbo because it goes good with the rb20dets. If anyone knows about these kinda turbos, bit of help would be good. Also would I have to change my ECU from the stock 20det one to chipped or something like that?

Got the last of the sound deadning out of my a31 cefiro. Gave it a quick gloss black paint inside and getting ready to paint the outside of the car in about half an hour or so. Also have some d1r rims on the way (same sort that Steven Sole has on his 2jz chaser) and I'm trying to find a 25det gearbox that isn't to expensive and fucked. Car is nearly track ready, just gonna be more of a thrasher than anything.
