I've been away for most of the week and just arrived home to find that the mods have now been fixed and all seems to be working perfectly. TYVM Gutty as always from myself and all the others we are very grateful for your effort/support. Time to go find that Quetz I've been eyeing up all week lol

Has anyone recently upgraded their system and have a decent graphics card up for deals? Currently doing a budget gaming PC build so looking at something maybe from a 750 Ti upwards. Just thought I'd put it out there before I go throwing money at TradeMe.

The new mods are pretty cool a whole lot of Game of Thrones gear and Egyptian stuff I've been making which is awesome. Haven't been able to find the Valentines Xtras anywhere though, I tried looking in the Building Xtra's crafting station and couldn't find them there either.

Game update at 5am. Then mod update at 6. It's seperate because of past updates overlapping and was never right.
Auto updating of mods seems to be working really well
Server is back up and running fine this morning, and the current Auto-updating of mods seems to be working flawlessly lately mate thanks again. Was the Valentines Xtras mod removed from the mod-list? Just noticed this morning that a few things like couches beds etc. aren't there anymore.

Hi guys, just letting you know that the Copper steam punk items have all been split into their own separate mod which has caused some issues on the server (ie. all copper structures have disappeared but still have collision boxes). The new steam punk mod as well as notes on issues people are having with previous Ark Advance copper structures can be found here: SteamPunk Mod

I will change the xtras mods to the new xtra mod, its got them all in one pack. hopefully that doesnt kill your placements
Thanks mate, I haven't built anything that heavily relies on the Xtra's packs so far so will be no biggie for me if those structures are killed during the change-over. If the new Xtras mod has more structures I'll actually be looking forward to it. I was beginning to run out of ideas using the currently available structures for things to put into my bar & brewery lol

There seems to be an issue with placing down any of the structures from the Building Xtra's and Valentine Xtra's mods. The green placement shadow shows but you are unable to place the structure once you left click. I've been doing some testing and so far it only seems to be those two mods that are affected. All structures from the Ark Advanced 9.0 mod are working fine. I have been reading through the comments and discussions of the mod authors workshop page and others have confirmed they are also having the same issue. It has been suggested to check the update status on the mods higher on the load list, as a failed update has been a known cause of this issue for others. I'm not sure if this will help hunt down the problem but everyone on the server began reporting the issue with mod placement on the 21st April which once again coincides with the most recent release/update of the Ark Advanced mod (v9.0). If you find time to take a look at it I am sure the others and myself would be very thankful for any assistance you can render

Hi Gutty have you run the manual update yet? I still cant get on. Apparently im the only one who has allowed the 239.2 update to run on my system. pretty sure everyone who can get on is still running 239.0
I can get on the server just fine today but your right im still using the previous update 239.0 (have yet to update to the latest version). Seems to also be an issue with not being able to place any of the modded structures. I haven't been able to get back in since the 6pm restart. Seems my client updated itself again and server needs to update to v239.0 looking forward to the update flying manta rays
Do they fly??
They don't "fly" per se lol but they do breach the water surface and hover briefly according to the spotlight video anyway. In any case I am going to try and find one today and do some testing.

Says server is offline on Arkservers.net
Gutty still workin on the problem mate, the server restarted and mods updated but I don't think the server updated to the latest game version as it was still showing 237.4 when I last checked it on arkservers and was still inaccessible from the in-game server browser. Give it another 20min then I'll check again. Sweet though it will give me some time to shoot down the road to pickup some gaming "supplies" lol

Its a pain in the ass to have to do but the moment I log onto steam I will put any Ark updates on pause and try join the server. The only time I un-pause the update and let it run is when I can't join or see the Getsome server
I had mine setup to stop the updates also but in the mornings when the Mrs gets on to play she lets it update to get onto her servers >_< fml lol...

Yes please, we're all unable to login (mod mismatch) except for Von. He is once again the only person able to connect since the mod updated as he doesn't let the automatic game updates run (he updates manually and only when they are mandatory).
v238.1 just released too (major update 700mb - 3 new dino's and a server startup crash fix)
Looks like the server didn't quite catch the update today as its still running version 237.4

I had to completely reinstall in the weekend due to full hard drive and once I free'd up some space, it wouldn't carry on.
The reason I haven't done anything to the server since you reported this sin, is because people are on the server. so i'm assuming its client side.
Heya Gutty, as far as I'm aware (and I've been monitoring the server very closely this week) Von has been the only person able to connect to and play on the server since I logged out early hours of the morning on the 22nd March. Also the 22nd (which would have been the 21st overseas) incidentally coincides with the most recently released update for the advanced architecture mod which my client wouldn't have downloaded until I started the game later that morning and since doing so I and others have not been able to connect. It can't be an isolated incident as I have been asking some of the other regulars to try and connect (not just from different computers at my home address but across the country) and they have all said they are getting the same mod mismatch error and unable to connect. I've been through exhaustive tests on my pc, reinstalled ARK/Steam and even Windows multiple times, trawled through pages of forums to research similar issues and nothing they've suggested has worked. The only thing that Von has done differently is withheld from downloading the most recent official ARK non-mandatory updates. Prior to all this I was the only person able to connect to the server successfully for approx. 2 days and Von was having the same issue. I could tell there were plenty of others "trying" to join as I could see their steamID's attempting to connect to the server and then within seconds drop connection. Von eventually managed to fix his issue by unsubscribing from all mods, manual deletion of all mod related files, and then letting the game/server subscribe to the mods. Those of us who I know have been having issues have all tried to repeat Von's process exactly (many times) without any success, not even a complete reformat of my PC fixed the issue. I thought it could be a bad HDD or dodgy ram causing the game files to corrupt but I have tested both extensively and they came back clear on all results. Even if failing PC components were found to be the problem on my end, that wouldn't explain why the others are having the same mod mismatch issue. I know your probably extremely busy this week so I'm not going to sit here and harass you to fix the server right now or anything (that wasn't the point of me creating this thread) I only wanted to bring it to your attention that the server almost certainly requires a closer look. I'll be off for the weekend so its not going to affect me as much, but there are probably quite a few regulars out there who would be looking forward to a weekend of gaming ARK and having to look elsewhere to play.

We're still having trouble connecting to the server today/tonight, we tried logging in on two of our computers here as well as one of our other tribe members from their house who is also getting the same mod mismatch.
I managed to deduce that the mod mismatch message comes immediately after the game finishes downloading and installing mod #539464369 (Advanced architecture).
Its a weird bug - Von had issues logging in for a number of days with the version mismatch and yet a few of us were able to join and play just fine during that time and now only Von seems to be able to connect.
In the interest of trouble shooting (or as a temporary solution), would it be possible to upload a copy of the servers mod folder/files somewhere so we can download and try pinpoint exactly which mod is causing us issues.
I've tried everything including reinstalling ark and all mods from scratch, letting the game subscribe to the mods, system restore, pretty much everything bar reformatting my pc and nothing seems to have worked.
It also occurred to me that since Von started experiencing the first mod mismatch issue on the 17th there was a sudden decline in the amount of players successfully able to connect to the server. We would often see many players trying to join then immediately be dropped from the server which makes me wonder if there is a possible correlation.
Can anyone else provide any feedback on whether or not they can successfully join?

Instead of subscribing manually maybe let the game do it?
Did that as well, tried to verify the game cache which was fine even rebooted and tried to let the game resubscribe but still getting the same mod mismatch again. I'm trying it again for the second time since I rebooted we'll see if it works this time, only problem is I keep getting a connection timeout from the server when trying to connect which interrupts the mods downloading.

Well so far I've tried unsubscribing and deleting the entire mod folder content then resubscribing still no luck. It was weird cos when I tried to rejoin the server I got a different message this time "Failed to install mod map". So I deleted them all again and redownloaded and am now getting the mod mismatch error again.

Hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone else is having trouble connecting to server this morning/afternoon?
A few of us have been trying to connect this morning (before the scheduled midday restart/update) and we were all getting "Mod Version Mismatch" error message. So we waited until after the midday restart before trying to connect again but its still giving us the same mod mismatch error.
Also, I know from past experience that running/maintaining a server can often be a tiring and thankless job. So I just wanted to say once again thanks to Gutty for taking the time needed to install the mods and iron out the bugs in the server. As always your efforts are greatly appreciated.
It took me a while to adjust to the new server settings but now that I'm used to it I couldn't imagine going back. The higher level dinos/difficulty setting is fantastic in combination with the ARK Advanced mod.

lol Shit happens. Don't stress, Lots more Rex's round.
Sweet as man I just wanted to let ya's know how it went down lol. Also, I think (though I'm not 100% sure) Razer (from decepticonz too I think?) dino's got wiped by a lvl 300 wild Giga that was hanging around the snow biome. Went past his base earlier in the night and there were no fences around his base either. Came back past a couple hours later and all his dino's were gone and a wild giga was stomping around his base.

Sorry guys, I didn't know a quicker way to inform you of what just happened (as I hardly see any of you on the server lately) but I unintentionally killed one of your rex's tonight. Let me explain, I just completed a 4hr tame on a 616 giga and was flying home with it following behind (on passive). I was making my way around the bottom of the volcano (near the cave entrance) when my giga got jumped by an aggro high level tamed rex I think belonging to JustFaKix it was wondering around the wild must have got out from his yard when the server was having issues with the mods (and all the modded fences disappeared). It attacked and almost killed my new Giga, which in turn made the Giga go rage mode. In less than 1min it took my giga's hp from 36k to less than 3k before the Giga just managed to kill it. The rage mode made it turn on me and kill my best quets as well (the one I was riding) but there was nothing I could do. I tried to whistle it passive to call it away from the rex but I don't think it works if its raged. So once again sorry but the giga just reacted defensively when it took such massive damage from that rex. And there were losses on both sides

Myr are you having trouble connecting to server again? I was just playing now and saw you having trouble logging in, few mins later ARK froze on me and haven't been able to log back in since game continually freezes at loading screen and crash to desktop. Was just wondering if you were having a similar issue.

Tonight I will be installing a mod update system that will run 3 times a day. I will make it run at different times to what the game updater runs at.
mod updates: 6am, 12pm, 6pm. game updates: 5am I know the 6pm time will be annoying, but this check will give allowance for anything released within the afternoon. If there are updates between 6pm and 6am, then there may need to be a check around midnight.
Thanks for your efforts mate.
