BC2 was addictive to some extent despite all its problems, BF3 doesn't have that addictive element that makes you want to play again and again. I've clocked in 30ish hours where in BC2 it was somewhere in the 300ish range.

THIS..

1500 hours BC2 vs 156 BF3.. for me.. roughly 10x more hours in BC2 as well.

Mmmm

PLUS

EQUALS 500 hours
 vs

410 hours...

...but I am still playing BF3 (when I get away from Borderlands 2 ;))
BF3 is much better even without the auto all angles kill knife of BC2

How to not kill someone with a knife
1. Play BC2
2. Get behind said person
3. Attempt to kill by stabbing with knife multiple times from differrent angles
4. Give up and blast them with lead

Sounds like BF3, me so bad with knife.  MMB seldom works for me and I usually scroll to pistol or nade, then try the F melee key, that just registers a hit but no kill.  by this time they have normally turned around and insta stabbed me, so much fun, I hate you

Yeah Knife is super fail in BF3. teleport half way across the map and lunge stab them... Like WTF. Run past said person hit melee and suddenly jump back in time to knife them... and then what Kong said. super fail system.

But in BC2 knifing works from front back and sides with super lunge kill. Still failed heaps but much more opportunity to use it

Whenever I try using MMB I end up scrolling up instead even when it is on clicks scroll mode

True that. DLC is only any good if the base game is good enough to entertain for more than 2 months. otherwise its the same ol room with different wall  paper.
