looking to top up our mortgage to get a few things done, checked with the Valuer who did the valuation when we bought and he wants full price to re-value the house. I think this is a bit steep seeing as it has only been 13 months since he last did it, apart from being a shit load tidier than it was, not a lot has changed since then except the Auckland prices
I know there are valuers out there who will give you a verbal report for approximately 50% so that you know whether or not to proceed applying to the bank, which is all we need.
There is a minimum figure we need the value to be at and based on the opinion of real estate agents, we are way above this figure, unfortunately the banks (for some strange reason) don't accept real estate agent valuations
The house is on the North Shore in one of the desirable/popular suburbs.
Valuer must be on the ANZ Bank approved list (apparently lots aren't)
Any recommendations?
