RSS feed contains posts not threads

20 new posts in a thread = 20 notifications.. I want to open the bloody thread not 20 copies of it each one pointing to a different post.

The RSS feed is generating an entry for every post in a thread, rather than just a list of threads. This is not how any other forum RSS feed I sub to works.

In example screenshot of my feed, three "new" entries for the "re: Anyone else stutter all over the show" thread. This is not really desired behaviour, it should only list each thread that has new posts once, rather than listing the thread 3 times for each new post in the thread.

According to SMF this is default behaviour

You can change your URL string to include the following to customize it

Sub-action: recent
Default: Shows 5 most recent posts
Available options:
limit=x - display the "x" most recent posts (if number is less than 5, it will display 5. If number is larger than 255, it will display 255).
board=y - display only the recent posts from board "y"
boards=x,y,z - display only the recent posts from the specified boards
c=x or c=x,y,z - display only the recent posts from boards in the specified category/categories
Example: http://www.getsome.co.nz/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss;sa=recent;board=661;limit=5

Okay in that case SMF is pretty much a steaming pile of turd when it comes to the usefulness of RSS.

I want the RSS equivalent of "Show all unread topics"

From what I can see I have a choice of every new POST (not topic), or every NEW topic without replies to current topics (in news mode).

Soooo, i guess we need to look at a feature request for this then, im sure we can code something up, its just not high on our list atm.

For now i recommend having a favorite set for http://www.getsome.co.nz/index.php?action=unread

This is how i come to the forums, catch up on everything new, then browse around to post things.
