The DP should have known better than to walk around while a scene is being shot.If a light needed adjusting its done after the scene is shot.When "action" is called it means No talking,No movement by anyone not directly involved in the shot.
Bale must have been under a lot of pressure to lose it like that, but some "stars" do create a larger than life persona and get a bit full of themselves.
