State what you believe the person's position is, ask them to verify or clarify, then state what the other people's position is. Try to get them to understand the reasons between the two, and suggest ways he or she could try and work on the problem. If it's not an issue that can be compromised on, then make sure you discuss why it's not something that can be resolved through compromise, and try to help the person realize why their behavior needs to change
