So...You're telling me, Christians can turn into bears? We're fucked.
The best thing about Finance Minister Bill English\'s latest Budget is that it does finally signal a much greater role for the private sector in the New Zealand economy. And another step along the way to extract this country from the political cul-de-sac in which Helen Clark\'s Labour Government parked us.
long time reader first time poster (in this epicness anyway)i had to lol at thisAn Atheist in the woodsAn atheist was walking through the woods. "What majestic trees!""What powerful rivers!""What beautiful animals!" He said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look to see a 7-foot grizzly bear charging towards him.The man ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even cl ose! r. He t ripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left and raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"Time Stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. As a bright ! light s hone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist, and even credit creation to acosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"The atheist looked directly into the light and said, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?""Very Well", said the voice. The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head &spoke: "Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."
and the point of this hypothetical situation is?
I think it was a joke
Yes, it was....
Righto, so this thread has brought up many of the negative aspects of Hardcore Christianity and its past wrongs.Anyone willing to now discuss Islam.I read the book Infidel in the weekend ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infidel_(book) )Which pretty much a fairly damning account of what is it like to grow up in a hardcore islamic nation/family.This women suggests that left wing people are actually being to forgiving which this religion and that just saying "oh people are free to believe in whatever they want" are making matters worse. If you allow hardcore Islamic people the freedom to practise thier ideals you are condemming the majority of the women under those relgions to lives of torment.
So at the core , the issue is not Islam, but the concept of nationhood, and the philosophy that national sovereignty outweighs human abuses.
even the powers above whatever you may call it had a little lol.
I Agree to an extent but the problem still occurs in western countries where there are large Islamic populations, Women are being beaten constantly in those countries due to islamic teachings but the state cannot prosecute/protect these women because the women are taught that complaining is un-islamic and if they run from thier husbands thier families will disown them and to these people family is everything. How do you protect a women who thinks that her husband ( A man who in most cases was picked by her family not her ) has the islamic right to have sex with her and beat her whenever he wants?Because of PCness noone seems perpared to say this sorta stuff is inherently wrong.
Let's post a massive picture and fuck up the thread. That Geological time spiral reminds me of this thread, except that the Geological time spiral actually went somewhere.
A good idea, Duck, but it was like this:"Why'd the chicken cross the road?To get to the other side. Rofl""So what is the spiritual meaning of this comment?""It's a joke, dude."... its fair to say some people could lighten up a little bit.
Hmm men beating women and treating wives as possession. Glad that doesn't happen in NZ. Now I've done this before and will repeat. Can you point me to a specific case of someone defending the right of these thugs to beat their wives because of their religion?
Conversely, some people could 'seriousen-up' a little :rnr:
