religon != abrahamic religions

I know if i said it before, but some of the generalisations thrown out in this thread seem to indicate people don't realise this still.

Also, christians in media != general representation of christians.

Not as  big a problem in this thread, but thought I would say it now as well. Apart from that carry on.

I don't really make any distinction between the religions. They all begin with one or more imaginary friends. That tends to be the deal breaker right there

This thread will never die, even though religion will.

That in itself is a glorious thing.

I give up though, this thing will run its course.

What the hell? For a video that is titled "Give me Answers" it gave nothing. The guy constantly derailed the questions he was asked and just went on to explaining 'Christ' on a basic level as if trying to convert someone.

I was interested to see why the "mother" isn't worshiped, only father and son an he instantly avoided the questions and ended up explaining why the cross is so important.

Buddhism has some imaginary friends. Check out their varying planes of existence. I am pretty sure humans sit in the middle somewhere with at least 2 layers of minor and other deities above them.

that movie How to train a dragon was awesome :D

as for religion dieing.  i tend to disagree.  but i guess if it does... we'll all be dead before then :P   We'll find out whats true and what isnt in a very special way :P

as for media representing Christianity as a whole... thats silly.  there are so many denominations like there are with even islam.
so to say a the catholic church represented in the series V, how does that relate to my church?
how does picking up snakes during a service represent my church?
how do Anglican churches apply to mine?

just as narrow minded of me to say that the representation of Islam in the media = general representation of Islam.

Thats why teaching should be from the Bible.   So there is no question as to who is right and who is wrong.

when you get man coming in and saying, you should worship angels, or i'll add another book to the bible.  Then you've got problems.

but not like you really cared ;D

If you agreed with each other then why don't you share the same faith?

There's a reason why your friend is of the Islamic faith and you are not, because somewhere down the road you begin to diverge in religious structure.

Seriously, if God made Adam and Eve from clay why didnt he do that with Jesus? Why rape poor innocent Mary? Impregnating against someones will is a CRIME.

And if he's magically able to create sperm to fertilise her with, why not just magically create a child?

Also dudes- you say Jesus is so great because he died for your sins? Tip- he has God mode turned on. Dying for him is like us dying in BF2, he just spawns somewhere else.

Im sorry rice but that is one flawed argument(one that i see quite a few Christians use) ;/

Alot their is much disagreement when it comes to the bible in regards to CHRISTIANS. The main reason why we have soo many branches of it.
Then you'd have to go about proving why your view is justified or correct without using wishful thinking.

Adding another book to the bible wouldnt hurt... When they fully canonized it  way back with that roman emperor we dont know how much other relevant work was left out that would have put jesus in a different light. Basically they just made Christianity what they wanted it to be, not the truth... lol although half the damn stuff in the bible is complete bupkis without much concrete evidence backing it up

:S

lol also havent seen you online in ages!!!

I love that this thread was started by some guy that calls himself "m3th".

Watched "Men who stare at goats" last night. Found the concept of "optimal trajectory" very grounding.

I’ve always been a fan of determinism.
