Also, that passage reads like a version of the beginnings of life that has been extremely simplified for 8 year olds. (No offence mate :))

None taken he is 7.

But then there is nothing to suggest the theory is incorrect or not current scientific theory. It's a very interesting book. Published 2006.

Blackheart tried to +1 for the "pinch of salt" line but must spread it about a bit first, something my mum told me not to do but what the hell eh?

hmm science is first a theory then tested and the end result is a proven fact. where is proof that god/jesus or any of that shit exists? imo the bible is a story book sum guy wrote many years ago and some emo decided to base his life on it an con others into reading it. GOD is an imaginary friend for adults who are scared of not knowing wat may happen at the end of their lives

I was reading the gamespot C&C3 forums and found this incredibly funny.

Quote
I can't believe how anti-Christian and anti-religion this game is...

NOD are the "bad" guys yet:
-They are the only church-like organization in the game
-The name Kane is a biblical reference
-Kane from what I understand dies every game then comes back in the next... just like Jesus died and was resurrected 3 days later... Are they saying Bad guy = Kane = Jesus?
-The people of NOD are the only ones who live with faith

I tried playing the GDI faction but stopped after a few missions because they didn't mention God even once! Why would you portray the "good" guys as godless people?

This is a sad thing to see, a game like this making only the "bad" people those who believe in faith and making the "bad guy" a knock-off of Jesus, who is all that is good and holy in this world.

I think I may play the NOD campaign once then uninstall this god-bashing game. I will pray for you all to do the same.

he also doesnt like harry potter

Quote
"Dude are you serious, you dont play a game unless god >makes an apperence? You need to relax a bit, its just a game. Its people like you that villify harry potter. ITS FICTION."

Don't even get me started on Harry Potter and it's author trying to push Satanism on millions of kids... Witchcraft is synonymous with Satanism, and all these parents think its cute that their kids are getting brainwashed into thinking Satanism is "cool" thing to do. Someday when its your time you'll have to stand before Jesus and answer for your sins, and when he asks you why you thought Satanism was such a good thing, what are you going to say?

Finding bad examples of non-christians is yet far easier again.

Only because the majority of New Zealanders aren't christian. I'd love to see some figures showing the stats per capita.

Statistics on religion record New Zealanders' religious affiliations.

More than half the population affiliate with a Christian religion, of which Anglican, Catholic and Presbyterian are the largest denominations.

The largest non-Christian religions are Buddhist, Hindu, Islam/Muslim, and Spiritualism and New Age religions.

The number of people who choose not to record a religious affiliation is also counted.

Increase in non-Christian religions

Over two million people are Christian.
The main Christian denominations are Anglican (584,793 or 17 percent of people), Catholic (486,012 or 14 percent) and the Presbyterian group (417,453 or 11 percent).
The number of Catholics increased by 12,900 between 1996 and 2001, while the number of Anglicans (-46,971) along with the Presbyterian group (-38,895) decreased.
The count of Anglicans exceeded that of the other denominations in all regions except Auckland (where Catholics were largest) and Otago and Southland (where the Presbyterian group was the largest).
The main denominations in the 1901 Census were Church of England (41 percent of people), Presbyterian (23 percent), Catholic (14 percent), and Methodist (11 percent).
At the 1901 Census only 1 in 30 people did not give a religious affiliation.
Almost 4 out of 10 people did not specify a religious affiliation in the 2001 Census.

last time i check anything over 50% was a majoirty

Without bad, there would be no measure of what good was.

One thing that does get to me, is all these ex-crims (murderers, rapists, etc) and ex-junkies that turn to religion and expect people to view them in a different light.  Once a piece of shit, always a piece of shit, at least beforehand they weren't hypocritical pieces of shit.

Religion is not the biggest cause for war. Check your history books and you'll see that even in the last few major world wars, religion was not the driving force - it's territory. Sure, you could claim there are religious under currents, but one kingdom expands its territory into another kingdom, and you have conflict as a result. It's been that way all throughout the ages. Sure, there's been wars over religious differences, but it's commonly perceived that religion is the main driving force for war, when infact it is not.

lol, what is it with folks posting just image links. It's like "I have no intellect of my own, so I have to post a picture that someone else thought of". :chuckle:

Everyone uses faith, no matter what. You excercise faith when you step into an elevator, or when you go on a plane. Both are acts of faith, whether you know it, or like it.
