Those minature tanks are really well done, I wish I had his skills for painting my Warhammer 40K models, It always seems to turn out not as cool as it is in my head.

Recycle your red poppies, paint them white, and wear them throughout the year.

Thanks Grim, nah I was on the beach, took it with my 300mm zoom. I've only ever been on it once, but went by chopper so I could get some aerial shots. Quite eerie when you're out there with only two other people.
Looks just like a science fiction movie set. In fact just last month there was a film crew from the Narnia series getting background scenery to cut into the latest movie.

There's some more shots of the island near the bottom of my scenic photo page...

Are those all your photos? If so, brilliant work! I love the Whakatane night shot.

Is that a part of the business you own?

EDIT:

Just found this photo while Googling my way through lots of photography forums. Thought it was quite awesome.

Yeah Spork, I have a framing and photography busines in Whakatane, have done for over 27 years!
:)
I made the website myself as well.
Don't do weddings and families and babies anymore, just scenic photos for myself that seem to sell now and then and a bit of commercial photographic work. Most of the time I spend making custom picture frames for all the weird and wonderful things people bring into the shop.
Not a bad life, though as there are no slaves I don't get much in the way of holidays or sick leave.

True story...

Spoiler :

Eugenia Falleni, alias Harry Crawford, special photograph number 234, Central Police Station Sydney, 1920.

When 'Harry Leon Crawford', hotel cleaner of Stanmore was arrested and charged with wife murder he was revealed to be in fact Eugeni Falleni, a woman and mother, who had been passing as a man since 1899. In 1914, as 'Harry Crawford', Falleni had married the widow Annie Birkett. Three years later, shortly after she announced to a relative that she had found out 'something amazing about Harry', Birkett disappeared. Crawford told neighbours that she had run off with a plumber. In 1919 Birkett's young son, who had remained in Crawford's custody, told an aunt of attempts made on his life by his drunken stepfather. The aunt contacted police. A charred body which had been found in Lane Cove in 1917 was belatedly identified as Birkett's. 'Crawford's' astonished second wife, when finally convinced of Falleni's true gender remarked, "I always wondered why he was so painfully shy ..."
