A good DJ should know how to rock a crowd the same way a rock band does.

I think thats partly the reason why the bigger dance acts at BDO were ones with live bands (LCD Soundsystem, Unkle, etc), and why they draw bigger crowds (by appealing to rock audiences).

yeah that and they are trying to merge two diff things, Produced electronica, and live acts, hence why so many like shapeshifter, But not me, i dont think there anything special, hecne why i wont go see them.

im still into the one dj per stage thing, and yeah your right, it is like a concert and a lone dj has to entertain the crowd just as much as a live band would, What helps is things like lazers, voice effects, audio interactive lighting and a huge sound system, the rest will follow, like the good vibes that flow through an audience when you play the right music. PLay shit and your crowd will react in that way, which in turn the negative energy from that crowd will flow to the dj and he wont get any better.
