edit: wait... mobo = $160 on pricespy, cpu = $70 ram = $60 although not gskill.. = $290 all up brand new.. not incl shipping though

rofl at the antec 430 watt psu for $167 tho mate, I got my Corsair 650 watt psu(sleeved and all) for $160, Corsair make fucking awesome PSU's. Also get Hans E8200 for the extra $20 IMO, 4 gbs only if he's using Vista.

yeah realised yeah lol, 430 is on the low side though, I picked up my 400 watt psu(35 amps on the 12v rail for $50 brand new) and my Icute case(clear side window) for $40.

I do not recommend cheaping out on a PSU

Yeah, he wants a half decent case.. so I'm guessing side window and it would need some fans for airflow.

What size psu do you think he would need if he got c0ns system?

Idk it'd probably work of 430 watts if the PSU was providing enough amps to each part, you have to take into considerations PSU's wear over time, and also upgrading I.e adding new Hard drives etc etc, and I MAY be selling my Icute which has a window if I can get that tower I bought into good shape.

500 watts would probably be good - just remember a good PSU is what you want.

also look on trademe for cases, ram, boards etc

Obviously - Who doesnt go to pricespy 1st?

Yeah there are PSU calculators but that's not 100% reliable but you get the picture the main thing you want out of your PSU is good amperage on the 12V rail(s)
