yeah, i rarely see it in film, but its quite common for oldish anime and cartoons. In New Zealand we have the worst most awfully produced cartoon/anime dvds in the world, field blended to hell and back.

Rainbows present on teleclined source (looks a lot worse on anime, i will have to do a lot of dot crawl correction or derainbowing for when i rip transformers )

Rainbow shit all the way through. I thought i encoded my rip wrong and i looked at the original DVD and it's like that to begin with.

yeah all you need to do is create a derainbow avi synth script and inject it while passing. What are you using to process video? Music videos are known for field blending or  being hard teleclined

I will post some before and after pictures tonight from my test clips to show how raped dvd footage here is.

i dont upload anything, i just rip into x264 aac and they sit on megaupload for backup reasons.

I use Megui with latest x264 builds and wil lbe using nero aac from now on, it was a very long process to learn how to rip things properly. Depends on your source as well, eg i use smart ripper with aspi to rip each episode pre split then demux using dgindex, THEN create the avisynth script after testing the video for such things as dot crawl, rainbows, or interlaced/blended frames.
