Good music is good music regardless of genre. Really tbh, preconceptions about certain types of music really holds you back in your music journey. I judge music objectively genre wise and appreciate different music in different ways. Music is an expression of self, an expression of creation, an art and as with fine art i.e. paintings, some art deliberately causes controversy or causes controversy as it plays on a socially unacceptable theme. e.g. death metal and gangsta rap are much the same in causing the same kind of reaction. Surely you should know about the controversy death metal from ill-informed people can cause? Yes? So then apply that to rap and your preconceptions.

I guess you never took higher education English thus aren't appreciative of what a lyricist Eminem is. Tis a shame really. I don't care if you don't like rap, that's fine, but to be educated about it is another. I post in here often as I love music and want others to appreciate good music regardless of genre. I don't have a nice sound setup cuz of 'oh look, at the prettiness of the speakers'......It's cuz I want to listen to my music in the best quality possible for my budget.

and a small fact.. I enjoy Hip hop instrumentally, I find the beat very good for skating etc etc.. it is however ruined by abusive and often offensive lyrics

No offence to you but maybe if you didn't play pretend expert so much, you wouldn't put your foot in your mouth as much. Having knowledge of audio equipment doesn't automatically equate to you knowing everything about music.

iLurk knows that this is far from the truth and is only really a small sub section of rap. If you don't like gangsta rap, that's fine, but to apply it to all rap and hip-hop is a logical fallacy.
