Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing [Mobile Sound Fidelity Labs remastered]

I remember doing a school project about the Bee Gees in primary school :bounce: I grew up on a lot of 60's and 70's stuff as my parents had a lot of that stuff on VHS. My parents = were very early adopters of VHS

I 'hate' ( a bit strong but shit, whaddaya do when an audiophile talks shit?...how old were you when they came out?) that Pixies remaster, and apparently so do the 'other' Pixies.

Give me low fi or give me death:

Sometimes people can be a bit too precious about the *cough*quality of the music without realising the significance...Original Pixies > Remasters, and yes, I've heard them and yes, I *know* the originals...and yes it's the DKs

Check out Alan Vega/Suicide and Psychic TV.

That is Thee Essence.

Including the MSFL remasters?
Most 'remasters' are just Loudness-War-ing the tracks = decrease quality (MSFL and DCC remasters = don't).
I can 'send' you the MSFL remaster of Surfer Rosa if you like. I hate 'remasters' with a vengence except for those two.
MSFL remasters don't fetch for at least twice the normal price of a CD for nothing....some rare ones go into the US$100 mark easily.

Since when does the age of the listener matter here.....
I grew up when I was little listening to mainstream 60's and 70's stuff from my parents....one of my favourite albums was originally released when I was less than a year old.....some, even before I was born.....
But hey, some people like the low-fi sound e.g. the 'indie' scene, the vinyl scene (yes, low-fi, scientifically low-fi (via distortion), I will not get into a digital vs. vinyl argument) and there's nothing wrong with that.

I know people care about the significance of the recording, even if it was low-fi. the Beatles' mono recordings are a testimony of that. For me, I just want the highest fidelity possible (that has scientific backing as there there are a lot of snake oil / myths in audio / audio industry). Different strokes for different folks.

Anyway:

Quality doesn't mean shit, if the crappiest pop music brat released some 7.2 FLAC HIDEF ULTRA MEGA MP3s OF OVAR9000 GIGS doesn't make said music ANY better..

quality of music > quantity of bitrate
