How did you get the lights outside the bus to "blur" while the inside is all nice and crisp without being over exposed?

I took some photos in the front seat of a moving car at night, this is the best one.

the bus one was shot at 6.45 am and sun was still down at F5.6 iso 200 2 sec  its all judgement of incoming light ... its easy to under expose by a stop then correct later and cause i had the camera rested on the sil of the bus window and pressed against it if the bus moved so did the camera so doesnt give any motion blur

its cause the camera is 4 1/2 years old and is under $1500 and they take the price off the latest model ..... 600D - $1200 and then take 40% off for depreciation then 25% for every year after that

so moral of the story is if you get travel insurance and you intend to take a lappy or camera ect ... make sure you state its value in the application for insurance

it was going on the plane with me the reason it got squashed was cause some fucking twat was walking along texting and not looking and walked into my trolly knocking my camera bag off the top and then a 23kg suitcase on top of it as it was half purched on the trolly and the ground really it stood no chance :/

Well after buying my first (point and shoot) camera a year ago, really enjoying getting to know tidbits of photography - and having such good subject matter living in CHCH last year, I had been looking at a new camera for bloody yonks. I'd had a play with a few people's nikons, and a couple canons (300D, 5DMKII, 7D), and figured I'd wanted to go mid-range.
As it were, however, I had put this off long enough that someone simply gave me a camera.
So yeah, I just scored an 1100D with a stock 18-55 lens on it :O

I figure this will keep me occupied for a while and let me save longer for a step up - but I'm just stoked because I was bored of the point-and-shoot.

So stand-by...
