If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes should fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Nice work Swindy, unfortunately yours is a bit overshadowed by Distorted's though, fantastic photo Distorted! I must say that is one of if not the best photo of the thread, care to upload a bigger version of it?

Here you go guys
I took this with a Canon 500d with an 18-55 lens as a series of portrait shots and then stitched together. I was in a rush as I was on a field trip at the time and the bus was about to leave. This is actually a crop from a larger photo, however I decided I didn't like the foreground and liked the stillness & reflection of the harbour. The foreground of the photo unfortunately distracted from the harbour, so away it went :)
I will probably add it to my site later on tonight, just wanted to share it with you guys first.

The stitching program I use is called PTGui. So bloody simple to use and does an excellent job at stitching. When I actually can afford to buy my own gear (Currently I beg/steal/borrow or resort to my cellphone nokia n93i) I will try and get my mits on a wide-angle for such photography.
There's a couple more shots I am itching to grab around banks peninsula:
I want to do a pano of a Southerly storm rolling in towards chch from birdlings flat, a pano spanning from the peninsula, down the beach to the raging grey/black clouds of the approaching storm. The only tricky bits is going to be the waves, that's where a wide-angle lens would be much better than stitching multiple shots.
The other shot, I was inspired coming back from French Fest in Akaroa last year, as I rounded a corner coming along Lake Ellesmere, there was an amazing blue/purple/pink/orange sunset which was reflected amazingly in the stillness of the Lake, and all of the surrounding landscape was a black silhouette. Sadly I didn't have a camera on me, I was so angry.

I'll probably go back to Lake Pearson (on the way to arthur's pass) during the winter as well to capture the snow capped mountain reflecting on the still lake. I think I need to find a better vantage point than I used last time though.

I'll be sure to let you know the next time I go up, but the times I decide to go can be pretty spontaneous, and it depends if I can get a camera or not. I really need to get a tripod too! I'm certainly keen to catchup and trade ideas and work on a shoot together :)

Played around with LEDs and 15 sec exposures last night, was a bit hard for a cripple, and I couldn't find my remote so I had to push the shutter then hobble in front to try and do it.

Light works well for testing, will go ahead and make the straight light now. Was alot of fun, thou the wife looked at me from the house and I'm sure she thought I was a few screws loose!

Man, I still reckon Nikkon pwns canon in the metering front. The lighting always seems more flattering/soft/balanced.

Some of the images I took earlier this evening, my attempt at the HDR process.
Wasn't so much about what I was shooting, more the trying out of the process.

Thoughts?
