Nice pic dude...

Ive always wondered, with black and white pictures....is it best to take em with the setting on the camera? or use a programme like photoshop to do it??

I assume the camera, but it could be cool having em in colour then changing em to black and white.

It's easier to use the camera settings, you can see the scene before you take it. It's more difficult to imagine how good a shot would look like if you shot in colour.

I disagree with you there, Gimp, If you take lots of shots you can find some that look good b&w and some that are good in colour. If you try shoot purely in b&w you'll miss all the shots that are better in colour. There is also more options involved with shading etc if you shoot in colour, edit shading and then make it b&w. You are also unable to do shots loke deviants if you leave it in b&w mode.

So no I'd recommend you first shoot in colour and then decide, there are far more options involved.

EDIT: Although Gimp you do have a point. Make sure you never leave that mode on though, you might just miss that good colour shot.
2nd EDIT: Also shots with that mix of slight sepia and black & white aren't available on any cameras I know of.

I actually really like that 'Smakaksgrand' photo, Eskemo. Has the whole "Follow me, I'll tell you a story" feeling to it.

High five.

This little bugger is the devil in disguise. I kid you not. Eats and plays with everything. Almost pierced the missus nipple the other day so I threw it out of the room yelling "those are my toys, ruin those and I'll ruin you".

However, she does let her guard down and ends up sleeping in the gap between the beds backboard and the pillows:

1. Copy the layer because the background layer is locked (drag the layer to the little rectangle with a triangle in the corner below). ctrl t (transform).

Or even better.

1. Copy the layer.

2. use the ruler tool (measure tool) and draw a line along the horizon (measure can be found if you click on the eye dropper tool in the bottom corner).

3. image>adjustments>rotate canvas>arbitrary.

4 crop the image.

Cool.

no need to copy the layer, just double click it and name it whatever, voila unlocked.

Yea but then if you stuff it up, you have to open the image again. Where as if you copy the layer, you can just delete the crapped up layer, and start again.
