Doing some more photography on Saturday =)
These are quite old, not sure if I've posted any of them before.
I really like it but the first one is blurry, it's from when I first got my camera and did not have a tripod. The necessary level of zoom vs. shutter speed = out of focus :/ Just posting because I think it would of been awesome... if it had worked =D

I like the last one, however the over exposure on the building to the left is a bit crap.

Yea thanks mate, was quite happy with them, however as I said, that last one got quite badly over exposed in almost half the photo, I've considered going back to the same spot (it's only 5 mins drive from my house) just to see if I can improve on them as it is a very cool area at night.

you could try doing a double exposure spork.
You take 1 photo that has all the details in the sky stars etc, then take 1 with the details in the buildings in the left, then the right, then 1 with the same settings with the lens cap on and merge them all
they call it dark frame subtraction, it is used in star trails, google will be your friend here, will get great results.

the other way is to use LR with the RAW file and Adjustment brush turn show masking on highlight it and adjust the exposure of the targeted area of the photo ... takes a bit of practice to get right but once youve had a play with it youll understand a lil more on what it does
Cool photos you've taken
just a note after highlighting the selected area and your happy with it reclick on show mask to remove the white shading that shows you the area selected so you can see what each adjustment does

What is the best/ easiest way to get the nikon raw files into photoshop?
I might go back to the spot tonight and try out a few things, as I realised when I got home from my last time there that I had my bloody camera set to taking only high quality jpeg! I facepalmed for myself and went on with life.

4 of my photos going in to 2 buildings in Chch in the next week.
3 panoramas, each 10m long x 1.5m high going in to the Chch Art Gallery/CERA head offices, and my chch view is going into a 3.6m x 2.4m wall in a new shipping office.
