thing i find funny is, the better quality pic's were taken on a phone cam with lower 1.3mp and the lower quality on a 4mp phone cam and yes setting were maxed... weird.

Probably becasue Megapixel has almost nothing to do with the quality of the photo, just the resoloution (size)

this was taken as i was bored, but man i love it.

taken at 4.5fs probably about 150mm zoom.

What sort of cameras are you all using? I wouldn't mind getting into photography, but have no idea about anything.

well mine are taken with the D60 as you know. do you want to be able to take good photographs or actually get into photography?

Well hopefully the first one, but definitely the second one.

Also, I know yours were taken with the D60, but was wondering if you know the difference between the two.

Have a look at bridge cameras if you just want to get started.  My Panasonic DMC-FZ28 does straight RAW files as well as normal JPEGS so it gives you that ability to play with Raw files without breaking
your wallet on a full D-SLR. It also has the ability to screw filters on (56mm though which is a little expensive) so you can play with polar lens etc....
I bought mine for about $680NZ, but not sure how much you can get it for in Aus.

You can get into photography with any camera though, its mainly about finding the right subject and then getting the best composition.

Took these on the way home from work the other day. Using a little $300 Canon Ixus 75.

Both shots are taken within 15mins of each other. The light hadn't changed, i just changed the ISO value. I'm not sure how the bridge shot looks to you guys, but it looks a LOT better for me when it comes from the camera. For some reason when i save photos from PS on my Mac, it washes a lot of the colour out.
