I'm picking Joe Cole to not do much at all, then get injured for 8 months.
^ ROFL

I saw that highlights of the rabonti......whatever the fuck they were called and he was ok

better than most the other mud players we have

new season without RAFA should be interesting

I hope Liverpool come second. I like Liverpool a lot more than any other of the bigger teams. (top 6 do we have now?)

If Arsenal and Liverpool were 1st and 2nd (whatever way around it was) I would be extremely happy

i think the MANUs and Chelsea will be hard to beat though

Im expecting another fail season for citeh

I think City will be heavily involved in the title run. I suspect they'll struggle in the first half of the season, but gel in the second. Their squad on paper is very, very impressive.

I don't think Arsenal will get near the title this season. I thought it was ours the season Henry left - but we bottled it. This season, we just dont have the quality in defense - or the type of keeper that wins you titles. I also have worries about the type of training and drills we partake in, a heavy reliance on zonal marking and a questionable transfer policy. No doubt we have a lot of technical skill, and have quality young players - but that we continue to lack a truly winning mentality. Arsenal players seem a little too nice.

Liverpool will struggle - but I wouldnt be surprised if they got near the Top 4 again.

I suppose it comes down to consistency and who can keep a fit squad throughout the season

This lead to liverpools demise last year with Torres and Gerard being out for a lot of the games

Chelsea and ManU have great squads and Sir Alex does a really good job at managing his team over the whole year

I think we will do much better now that there is a new coach

All the players that were involved in personal battles with Rafa benitez have been sent on their way

Really looking forward to the games this weekend

especially monday

Man I hope they do sign Ibra, and then I really do hope City fails epicly this season, and the owner leaves them halfway through the season, and they crash and fucking burn. Straight down to league 3.

The only team I would really hate to win the league is City, I mean if Man U win it... Well they have won it so many times before so who cares.
If Man City win it, then there really is nothing to stop them from being Chelsea 2.0, and spending even more money next season.. Continuing to ruin the sport in the process.

Tough first up game for WBA.

Good first up game for Chelsea though, help them discover some form after a pretty average pre season.

Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1

Chelsea straight to the top of the table

then we scored in the second half lol

if only pepe had of held the ball we would have won

Mind you Arsenal looked more creative

I guess I'll take a point away at Anfield. Some question marks over the performance of some of our players though. Arshavin looked bored with it all - and there is Vela, sitting on the bench. Would've played Rosicky rather than Wilshire myself.

Still need another Centre Back...

I think LP deserved to win, but I'm not complaining too much, I only threw my remote once when Walcott stuffed up that chance right infront of goal.

Is it just me or do the promoted teams always get dropped in the shit by having to front up to one of the big guns first up.Most of the time its not a home game either. It seems a hard row to hoe to me.Some sort of FA thing or is it luck of the draw?

oh but Newcastle would LOVE it if they beat us, LOVE it

i must admit ive noticed that trend, then again one promoted team always gets some muppet team (aka blackpool getting wigan) so they have a big win and everyone goes oh cool! yay them

So lets see eh

Man United first game of season last five years

Newcastle (promoted)
Birmingham (promoted)
Newcastle
Reading
Fulham

Chelsea first game of season last five years

WBA (promoted)
Hull (relegated)
Portsmouth
Birmingham (promoted)
Man City (who?)

Arsenal first game of season last five years

Liverpool
Everton
WBA (promoted)
Fulham
Aston Villa

So yeah, maybe a trend? tho not a huge one anyway

Although I really do believe that we should have put ten past them, realistically I was hoping for at least 7, especially a 10 man blackpool, however until RVP and Cesc came on I believe the second half was only Arsenal at 50%.

EDIT: Now I'm just sitting here as the clock ticks away without any scores in the Chelsea Wigan game. I know they will win it, but every minute that ticks without a goal is comforting.
