I can't believe how the media have put this against Wenger, and saying that Ramsey's leg broke BEFORE Shawcross even made contact with him. Gah I wish the media weren't such idiots sometimes.

hadnt heard about this

as much as you likely know my opinion of wenger, i dont think whether Shawcross took a crowbar to Ramseys leg would matter, it doesnt change what happened, and theres no winners from that, a promising young players had his whole livelyhood put on hold, maybe permanently, and there should be a bit of respect for that. I sincerly hope we see Ramsey back playing again.

As for his claims that his team is being targetted....while i dont fully buy that people are trying to INJURE arsenal players, as ive said i think this case was clumsy and certainly not malicious, it certainly is a tactic for some of the bottom half of the table teams to be very physical to maybe make up for a lack of playmakers....has been that way for years.... I remember Denis Irwin getting crocked by some mad Belgian in one CL game, two footed lunge at the side of his knee, made me sick watching that shit...

Shame really, but the top teams always find a way past it in the end:)

^^^ someone posted a new thread about this in off topic a couple of weeks ago with a very good site to find live streams.

I agree that Arsenal are not being targeted, or I hope they aren't, but I've seen some people say that it's the English way and if these "foreigners don't like the way the English game is played, they should go back to their own leagues. which is stupid as if these 'Foreigners' never came o Englan, the EPL would not be anywhere near what it is today. Shawcross' tackle was in no way malicious, it was badly timed and very clumsy, and that is far from an excuse, he should get something at least like a 5 match ban and Stoke should receive a hefty fine for it.

The person who commited the foul certainly was STOKED with his challange

this is the first time I have seen it and it is very unfortunate

even if he does come back he will never be the same player mentally or physically

thats whats premier league though, you have to go hard for the ball no matter what

thats what your paid to do, unfortunately you might just snap or get your leg snapped trying to do it

I don't agree at all. You get paid to play football, and lunging into a tackle like that is NOT football, I mean if he had won the ball, it would have gone flying, a tackle is meant to win you possession of the ball, so you are not meant to use so much power in a tackle that you break someones leg... In two places!

I've seen one bad tackle from an Arsenal player in all the time that I've supported Arsenal, and that was Gallas against someone this season only a month or so ago. Yet Arsenal have more than a good chance of winning the EPL this year, which proves that you do not need to use any rough challenges, for Arsenal it's quite the opposite actually, the whole team is far from physical, which is considered one of their let-downs, but I would much prefer to see a league of teams who play like Arsenal, than a league of teams who 'play' like Stoke.

The best thing about Finance Minister Bill English\'s latest Budget is that it does finally signal a much greater role for the private sector in the New Zealand economy. And another step along the way to extract this country from the political cul-de-sac in which Helen Clark\'s Labour Government parked us.

I am not happy with liverpool at the moment but you have to take the lows with the his

with liverpool the lows totally outweigh the highs

Phoenix started playing better after they equalized 1-1.  I don't know what the usual punishment is but if the ref saw it you would think it would be red card and 10 v 11 for the rest of the game.  The Henry one vs Ireland was definitely red card if seen IMO.
Imagine the roasting he would have got if it was a home game.
A-league could be a good testing ground for fifa for TV refs for this sort of thing.

Yes - Go Melbourne
