Quote for a job for a client a few months ago. Client accepts quote, work on job. Client decides they want the job put on hold, fine, but I have to charge out for the work that has happened thus far. Client is OK with this, pays invoice and goes away.

Client comes back a few months later, wants work to resume on job. Begin work, client is happy, work goes to print.

Client emails today complaining why they have another invoice for the complete job.

Client has always been troublesome to deal with. Shit like "can I please confirm a meeting with you later on in the week, I need to finalise other meetings" only to come back to me with "what time are we meeting" and "why haven't you given me an update on this job", "because you asked me to cease work on it while you communicated with your associates about the work you're wanting done".

Getting 5 hours sleep last night because I was up till 2:30ish doing migration work that has to be done outside of hours, and waking up at 7:30 and not being able to go back to sleep.

So much caffeine consumed today and I was still not productive at work.

This really pissed me off today.
I just realized that windows defender had somehow turned off malware-bites and had been running for a couple of months. I found this out because adds started to pop up on steam client. When I scanned I found three Trojans and a few PUP Addwares.
The Trojans are sorted (I think) but the add wares seem to be hooked into my system. So I guess it will be formatting my hard-drives this weekend .

Things that fuck me off:

Going to a meeting. A few cities over. Cool, road trip. Never been there before either, so that's neat.

Then next thing boss invites himself along. FUCK.

The head of department coming to a low level preliminary meeting mostly to do with technical capabilities rather than anything political. No point in him being there at all. Not least beceause he knows fuck all about IT. Or what we do. Just a control freak that can't handle trusting his staff to do the right thing. Plus we're in the middle of a merger so he's trying to make himself look good, and heard that there will be a couple of new directors at this meeting. And he loves the sound of his own voice, and will likely derail the meeting within seconds and commandeer the entire thing the whole way through (including talking over the top of people who actually know what they're saying - talk complete bullshit over the top of them that is) making the entire thing completely pointless.

And he insists on driving. Stuck in a tin box with this arsehole for 6 hours in the day for nothing, I'm scared for my life.*
