Post your rides!

Actually just wanted to post to see if anyone thought it was an okay car or not.

Inb4 : Ford vs holden bs. Really couldn't care lol.

Edit : noting on the above ford vs holden comment, I have no clue why the front is blurred. Probably just a camera fault.

Ford vs. Holden only extends to Aussie made m80

Those things go forever pretty much, or so I've heard.

Whenever I get asked:
Ford or Holden?

I reply:
Aston, though to be fair, Toyota and Nissan make better V8's these days!

Then they get grumpy!

Nice Civic man, but I dunno about gas.
Was the Legend a turbo or NA?

See, whilst the capacity and tank may be a bit smaller, how economical a car is comes down to the driver's right foot...

Driving the cars pretty similarly, I got 330km to $110 of 91 in my Legend and 550km to $80 in the Civic. This is round town though (pizza driver while at uni :afro:)

Ah yep. Round town a smaller cap car will usually do better.
Course, I'm less inclined to give it a boot-full in our auto 323 than my Gtt... :p

Hmmmmm, check Octane rating on the Civic too btw.

I know my Levin ran like a dog on 91. Needed 98, like my skyline and the wife's S2000.

The Aston V12 is two Ford Duratec V6s.

How do I check the octane rating?

The engine is a D15B non-vtec 1.5L and the car was imported march this year. Has some crazy Shell Helix sticker in Japenese on the inside of the fuel flap, that might be useful but I assumed it was just when the fuel filter had been changed or something.

The car seems to be running fine on 91, but if there is no detrimental effect I might try filling up with 98 to see if the car runs any better/gets better km/l.

Cheers.

"all sohc/sohc vtec 92-00 JDM motors require/recommend regular 91-92 RON fuel"

91 - putting 95/98 is fine, just costs your wallet more.

^ this, according to several forums i just perused, you will likely actually lose hp/mileage.
Unless it actually knocks etc, waste of pingers.

Cool sounds like it's not worth it then.

Got a few things planned for the car once I've finished exams. Gonna pull my stereo out my Legend and install it into my Civic. Might need to get some new front splits but I'll see how it goes. I was gonna just try live with the stock stereo but I'm missing having nice fronts + a sub now, and since I spend ~24hrs a week delivering pizzas it seems worth it!

Hoping to take my time and end up with a pretty mint install like this:

Also any idea how much I should be expecting to get for my Legend? It's been rear ended and I was quoted 3.3k to get it fixed, but got the insurance company to pay me out that money instead (bought the Civic with that + my savings). It has some rear end damage where someone drove into me, the boot lid will no longer close and the bumper is cracked and the passenger side tail light is completely smashed. I was thinking about 1k but I really have no idea how much these things are worth.

The car is a 1996 Honda Legend 3.5L with 250,000km. It's WOF expired last week hence me having to get rid of it now. Got 2 new tyres + an alignment 2000kms ago. Also have had the transmission fully serviced with all new Honda Z1 ATF like 4 months ago. Will get some pics tonight when I get around to putting on trademe!

I love the HSV - Seeing one in real life sends a shiver down my spine, then straight to my dick

I however don't know what the idea is behind the silver finish plates above the front grills, it doesn't feel like a place that should be broken up to me. Looks odd.

Well, it is MO-Vember...

TBH I don't really like the styling of them. Seems like they're trying a bit too hard to look flashy, when understated looks would probably make the car's performance shine all the more!

Any which way I look though, I still come back to the whole:
Those engines should make more power, just like the American ones, which pushes me towards the Toyota and Nissan V8's

Anyhow, in other news, I'm driving an auto '91 323 at the moment. It's horrible.
Can't wait to get my big blue buddy back!

They come from factory de-tuned. They can make twice the power, but there is not much point on the road.
