I'd hardly say a fault line they didn't know about is 'such an active fault'I can understand peopel wanting to get out, but I believe it should be a quick holiday and then come back and re-assess the situation.I've lost my home (though still livable) will probably lose my job with no prospects for other employment. I have a family to provide for. I am still not making any rash decisions to move, Chch has been my home, I don't want to turn my back on it now when the city needs all the help it can get!
Same for us really. We're heading to Wellington for a couple of nights break next thursday, then on the sunday, after we get back, we'll be moving to the new flat we've got, then soem time around the 15th I'll find out if I still have a job. Tough times coming
Beer O'clock next week then.... (I presume you've got accomodation sorted.....?)
The best thing about Finance Minister Bill English\'s latest Budget is that it does finally signal a much greater role for the private sector in the New Zealand economy. And another step along the way to extract this country from the political cul-de-sac in which Helen Clark\'s Labour Government parked us.
