Update: Riccarton road is closed all along the side of the mall from Clarance street to Matipo street.

The shop fronts along the Clarance street end are all leaning forwards. Reassessment is underway.

No worries. The less peeps the better tbh due to communication issues. Our builder's here to work on our chimney so if you need any questions, please ask them but of course don't don't get in the way of them.

hahaha,... Riccarton Mall's more fucked than I thought. My sister works in mall management at The Hub Hornby (Hornby Mall) thus knows the situation with other malls. g0t sewege? Word is a sewage pipe burst within the mall underground and it's starting to seep into the shops. Hornby Mall lost all of 2 hours due to the earthquake. Was open at 11am on the day of the earthquake and has been given the all-clear twice (initial and re-assessment).

If you can guys, bring some old pillows and decent plankboards. Of course, steady grippy shoes are a must as old state houses have steep roofs.

Yeah, this isn't the mall though. It's the majority of the shops on the other side of the road. From the old cash converters (across the corner from the bike shop, by the traffic light foot crossing & bus stop) down to the travel shop on the corner.

Ill cut your hair, as long as its a number 1/2/3 or maybe a 0, or you could just go to ironforge.

Jesus you're attractive Tom

Biggest let down for me was seeing the Repiortrey (sp) theatre get hit, At least the Caledonian hall's still up. Many a good night in there getting wet with the firehose while rock bands played

If yer talkin' about mine I identified (incorrectly) each blue as noun or adjective. Then discovered I fucked it up. Then considered fuckit, anyone who gets the english language knows what I mean anyway. And anyone who doesn't can <insert favourite phrase here>

Burglars have broken into a Christchurch special needs school and stolen thousands of dollars worth of equipment from disabled students struggling to come to terms with Saturday's earthquake.

Ferndale Board of Trustee member Jacki Morris said staff arrived at the school this morning to find that burglars had climbed a fence and jimmied a window before stealing lap tops, digital video cameras and digital cameras.

Fucking filthy scum. totally at a loss for words tbh

Dirty dirty dirty shitbags. I hope they never get caught, otherwise someone's gonna get done for a perfectly legitimate beating to death.

Great.

So I go into my bedroom this afternoon, and notice that the damage after the quake is now a hell of a lot worse due to the after shocks. I don't understand buildings nearly well enough to know for sure how bad it is structurally, but best guess is that we're OK to stay here. The house is built of rimu so it's pretty bloody solid

It's so hard waiting for a building assessor to have a look. God knows what the repair recommendations are going to be. If the number gets too high they may say just bulldoze it.
