AMI have been fantastic. When I first rang to confirm they would cover motel accommodation, the woman said "make sure you get somewhere comfortable". All my questions have been answered promptly, and they have met all their policy commitments with a smile.

We're not making any contents claim for actual goods damaged, but our policy specifically makes 25% our our contents insurance available for alternative accommodation for up to 6 months. It's been a godsend

meanwhile the wheels at eqc grind slowly... we think we're closer to seeing an assessor but no actual date/appointment yet.

we would have to spend sooo much money to fix it up, it probably isn't worth it.
within the first 30 seconds of his visit, the assessor had an answer. we've hit the $100k EQC cap, now we just wait for our insurance company to send their assessor around so he/she can agree with the other two.

so, a bit more waiting and then maybe we can get some things underway.
