My elderly neighbours probably need assistance too getting down their chimney but tbh, It'll be safer with others than doing it myself so any assistance down my way would be good. They're quite physically strong considering their age but the more assistance the better. Their chimney is bigger + in worse condition than mine but both chimneys = rather dangerous.

How's your neighbourhood CK? Anyone need assistance?

I don't think anyone in Christchurch really cares for audio assistance or how to provide Wiki links right now.

You forgot the use of equals, e.g. depth = very important!

my ladder's not tall enough to reach the roof. Well it is but it'll be quite dangerous going back down. 230 Blenheim Road, I'm sure the neighbours won't mind at 228. The bigger ladder's at work :/
Tomorrow would be good but I'm not sure whether the chimney's will hold up overnight tbh.

no. Thank heavens we got the larger massive chimney deconstructed 2 years ago when we did home renovations. But the smaller one's significantly damaged due to the aftershocks. The neighbour's is bigger and worse condition. The wet conditions don't help.

remember you want to try and make things safe as possible, if you break shit (eg roofing) removing the chimney, it's all covered. Securing your property should be a top priority.

Yeah, I just don't have the means (see tall enough ladder) atm which is annoying.

Out of interest, do many of you guys use your chimneys still? I really didn't think they were in use at all anymore, and most people had got rid of them.
