A mate of mine was a Civil Defence volunteer down in Christchurch and he was telling me that they got training/warning about liquefaction. This was a few years ago - apparently they had a map of the city with areas indicating where liquefaction was most likely to occur. :eek:

We have received information that the following sites have received a red sticker and therefore are not accessible until Civil Engineers have inspected them further. It is unlikely that cars will be retrievable from these sites in the short term- Farmers - Cashel St - Bedford Row
