A few guys I ride with have 29ers, they are defiantly faster than a 26. Climb and roll really well, the larger wheels go over bumps a lot easier.

I have an older stumpjumper. Just got some wider bars, went from 640mm to 785mm (which I will probably end up cutting down a bit smaller). Can't wait to try it out.

My Dad got a StumpJumper Sworks, top of the line everything XTR. The entire thing is carbon. The cranks, the rims, entire frame, bars. Its freaky as. XL 29er and is super light and stiff.

carbon rims make a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference. Best single upgrade to a 26 i reckon. My old look road was full carbon, was a weird feeling coming from alloy frames.

So they spin up faster but it's easier for them to spin down faster (which is great for braking) but how does that impact cruising?

Is it noticeable or are you just too hardcore to notice cause you're never really cruising?

USA is awesome in summer. But winter it would be a bit shit. Cold and dark, same with Canada (parts get to -40c).

If you go to DC, stay somewhere within walking distance of "the mall" where all the monuments and Smithsonian museum places are. I think I was there 4 days, not enough time.

Holiday Inn in DC is great place to stay - one block from air and space muesum and the rest of hte mall - and behind the hotel is a train station which can take you out to other suburbs for shopping.
also holocaust muesum is a pretty interesting place - very emotional place with staff members who were survivers.

Native american museum is very cool too - and has a great food court.

Holiday Inn's are awesome all over the place. They have a good rep. Also DoubleTree by Hilton (where I stayed in NYC).

As for this 8yr old killer. At 8 I knew what a gun was, what it did and what the consequences would be if I used one. However, I was raised in a time (as a lot of us here were) when parents actually paid attention to you instead of just leaving you to be looked after by the TV.
