Fucking hell, I just took the council bin out to the street, I took my flashlight.

One redback was sitting on the handle of the bin.

Sprayed the fucker till it dropped onto the ground then squashed it with my left thong/ flip flop/ sandle/ what ever they are called in kiwiland.

Saw another one on my verandah, huuuuge motherfucker. I wasn't going anywhere near that one, takes ages to kill the big ones unless you can get them on the ground.

Then I saw another one which was hanging in the middle of my gate.

God damn they are the ugliest most beautiful thing ever.

Such pretty things but they are so ugly. It's like playing Fallout NV at 3am when you are sleep deprived. Now I'm bloody paranoid, was walking down the hallway wondering if I was going to step on one, or if one would just randomly bite me, now sitting at my desk, wondering if there are any in my room.

How many people have seen a live Katipo? Apparently there is (on average) one Katipo /square metre out on the Brighton dunes.
Also, potentially the Redback and Katipo can interbreed.

I got bitten on the beach, the doctor believe it was a Katipo. I had a open sore on my calf about the size of a 50cent piece that leaked puss for about 4 weeks, I had to go in to the hospital every day for the 1st week to have puss sucked out and drugs shot in.....
