Today has been awesome, I had immigration guys busting me last weekAND education department guys crashing my office today. First ones wanted to deport me as I am obviously some sort of undesirable.
 To teach in Korea the minimum you need is a bachelor's degree (not enough in my opinion!) Anyway, the second crashers said I was not qualified to teach as I only had a diploma (LOL) My wife then pointed to the papers in the guys hands and related that one of these said bachelor degree (my name) The next one said master degree (my name) and the last one was my graduate diploma in learning which is more grad school stuff takes about 1 1/2 years...high school teaching license. Their reply AHA! the diploma is the latest one the other ones do not matter you are obviously unqualified to be here....you are not qualified to teach in Korea!

Most other businesses around us pissed off ;p Particularly our competitors. We have had guys turn up with hidden cameras, microphones. 2 couples pretending to be prospective clients offering us illegal deals while recording it and intending to narc on us. They were hilarious" hello, we are mr and mrs kim how much are your services? Had a quick look at them, Mr Kim appears to be about 55 cadaverish stinks of cigarettes and alcohol. His "wife" was some 20 year old looking like she going to vomit from nervousness while fiddling with cables dangling from her jacket which made suspicious electronic noises.

Think I mentioned other couple a while ago on forums similarly believeable. You could remove them from your friends list in facebook. It seems the thing for little girls to do at the moment rather than discuss any issues. Perish that they might have to communicate, and I have it on good authority that facebook is widely used in Korea as a social status symbol.

Loving the holiday at the moment. Have been able to catch up with old friends, and laid the groundwork to catch up during the year, during some time where it's not an appropriated religious holiday (is that all religion is good for, ultimately?...holidays?) and people aren't being cajoled into parting with their hard-earned for unnecessary consumption, excessive food intake and self-serving gratification from getting someone something they didn't really need.


Just as people have a right to celebrate Christmas and all the trappings, I am able to put forward my views on the matter. It's a shame there is so much finger pointing, cock-rubbing and lack of decent, cogent discussions around this soft-modern pastiche of deathcults/moon cults/ rampant consumerism/lack of intelligence applied to deal with any sort of retort against it.
