I think that's the worst part of redundancy - not being in control of your own destiny.
 
I wouldn't be too harsh on your management either - there's an awful lot of this going on with others in your industry who are service partners to your major client. I think you'll find there's a lot going on at that top commercial level that's now starting to filter down.
 
Keep yer chin up though......it's fucking painful and shitty to hear, but every time I've been made redundant I've come back with at least a $10k salary lift. And the rest of the IT & T industry is buzzing at the moment. Lots of roles for good people at all levels......half the battle in the telco game is understanding the lingo and the processes, and I suspect you've nailed that in the time you've been there.

I will be coming through Christchurch near the last week of February. I have to catch up with my sister, but i'm sure i can spare a night out on the piss if anyone's interested. I've just got to sort out the logistics of how i'm going to play a couple of rounds of golf (Pegasus and Terrace Downs) and then get myself to Queenstown.
