Sure in theory it's better, nothing over the player, better quality and no adds. The reality is youtube is the market leader, you have better player control, mutiple res to choose from, google loves it and a larger audience so your peice of ~~shit~~ art video might get seen.
I had a full blown debate about it with a hipster who was hating on youtube. He's also a mac fanboi so it says a lot...
