Today, I nearly fell asleep at work.

Today, after a terrible night's sleep, I nearly fell asleep when I got up in the morning for work. Work and coffee has kept me awake.

So, I decided to start riding into work from now on, and today after work I decided to go for a trial ride to see how long it will take me to ride.

I made it half way down my drive way and the chain slipped about ten times.

God damn it.

tighten it you crazy fool.

Move your rear wheel further back in it's sockets. Make sure it's aligned central (as central as it can be, slipping is a sign of age, age means it's probably buckled as shit).

Also make sure your front derailier isn't misaligned. If it's too far to the out or inside it'll guide the chain straight off the crank. Two screws on the top? side (they're all a bit different IIRC) of it will adjust the travel either side. Make sure there's no slack in the cable first though.

You could also adjust the rear derailier, but it's less likely at fault.

And for fucks sakes... oil everything! (And make sure the cables aren't frazzled, and your brakes are good)

Is this one of those clever Menial euphemisms?

@Pyro, yea well I had heard before that derailers can be a problem, so I had a loot at the rear one, but after a few pokes I concluded that I had no idea wtf I was doing.

I'll wake up early tomorrow, give my dad a call and hopefully learn something from him while he fixes it.

EDIT: But yea, my chain is a bit (read; very) rusty, so I think that may be my main culprit.

weird thing is, my dad took my bike about 3 months ago to this place where he has friends who fix up bikes.

Yet it is exactly the same as it was before.. =I

Handle bars are a bit questionable, the grips are fucked.

Seat could do with replacing, but I'm a real man, so I can bear with that.

That's what you get with buying a GTB, as much as I wanted one, it was just easier to get a outback.
