Good game, a lot of the clunky interface and shit that wasn't needed has been cut and it's more streamlined with a good alert system (think total war series end of turn update-like) and far better combat. ^___^

Still in my first game 450~ turns in, difficulty is like 2nd easiest and marathon length (1500 turns). It's far too easy on this setting but I'll play it out to get used to the mechanics - besides I enjoy empire building, haven't even gone to war yet :O
