When checking in for JetStar, can I give them my itinerary and get a boarding pass from them or do JetStar email me a boarding pass? Because before I left to Auckland they sent me my ticket up to Auckland but not back. So I am confused/stupid... probably both..

You probably get your boarding pass when you go through check-in with your itinerary (providing that has your flight number and check-in number or some sort of barcode).

Yeah, that will get you your boarding pass. AirNZ does the same thing, emails you a PDF in which you print off that has a barcode and details in which you then hand to check-in.
