What's the issue?

Random crashes/shutdowns/restarts/SOS error beeps/lock ups. Initially it was okay, now it's not. Seems to happen more when the laptop is moved, but also seems to happen more when it's been going for a while. It won't do network transfers (keeps crashing when trying to search the network), and in general it's being a piece of shit.

I'm going to look at a Mac Mini for home, and a MacBook Air. I only really want them for photo editing, and the Mini's i5 with HT will do me fine for that, while I save for an MBP Retina. And the Air is perfect for long battery life work combined with multi tasking a few things like Word Processing and Internet and Email etc.

My MBP.... I treat it like shit, force reboot all the time etc. My mac partition never has issues, I must have rebuilt the PC/bootcamp partition over 9000 times!

My work Mac pro is the biggest piece of shit I have ever had the misfortune of working on.

Of all my years working on a Mac as a designer, I'll never understand why so many fucktards consider these machines 'industry standard'. Once upon time when Adobe favourited OS X for its software, perhaps...

Hey Codex,

How much and from where did you get your PSP Vita? I wanna grab one before the new models drop (LCD screens).

And our conversation about exactly this rang in my head as I was looking at new options. I'm still leaning towards the Air and a Mac Mini just for the ease of doing what I want across all the iOS devices I have, as well as the look and feel. I could just as well have a bloody Ultrabook of some sort, but the Mac draws me in like the sucker I am...

Uhhhh good luck... most places have cleared their vita 1000 stock for the slim

I got mine in a deal from the warehouse for $250 which was the vita, littlebigplanet, 4gb card, 16gb card with a bunch of lego games.

Hopefully you can find a good deal still, the OLED is gorgeous, the LCD replacement looks trash

Just so I know what to ask for when I rock into a store, what model is it that still has the OLED screen? The new model is the PSP 2000 so I want to avoid that obviously.

Is this what you got?

http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/gaming/consoles-en/handheld-consoles/ps-vita-wifi-game-bundle.html

Nice find! That's what I got less lbp and 4gb card

You can easily tell if it's a 1000 model because it has a proprietary charging port, new model has microusb. That combo looks like the 1000 and they're trying to get rid of them.

I planned to get a Raspberry Pi, but then I realised I don't have anything to plug it in to, and suddenly a 40 quid computer went to ~320 with screen & all the bits :<
I want one, but haven't bothered with getting yet :/

There's a guy who works on the hot-melt here at the printery, he's an old school ham radio operator and does pretty well on the national scene when it comes to comps. He uses a Raspberry Pi to run his ham radio stuff off for recording and logging. Such versatile machines.

Yeh, there are actually Raspberry Pi user groups that meet up and chat about the different ways in which they use their Pis and stuff. Mate went to one in CHC.
Some companies are even using them in commercial applications I think he said. Card readers and suchlike iirc.

I might just drop this in here.

My daughter Anastacia Dawn was born 28th 12:15 am 6 pound 11. or 3030grams for those that can't do on the fly conversions in your head.

so now dad to a 6 year old and a newborn..

Never been happier :) didn't think I would take to be a father as well as i have, but apparently anybody who knew me saw it coming, partially because i have had on off custody with my niece for the last 4 years.

anyway on that bomb shell i am off to get some sleep.

OH and RII  - English vet girl gets my thumbs up...  babies mother is english :)
