I like that you do it the proper way and claim a PTS direct from the IRD, and don't fall for those tax refund rip-off merchants.

I did a calculation, I have $199. But when I go in to request a PTS, it lets me go through the process - it says it's sent but when I go back to the 'Income' tab, it doesn't show that I've requested and instead asks if I would like to request it :/

ok, it did the same for me. Maybe mine didn't get sent either.

But it did the same thing when I requested a PTS for 2013-2014 as well.

Then LANs had their time. great fun playing at home, 150+ ping, then you go to a LAN and the difference was so huge it was worth lugging all your gear.

Reading back through the last page and remembered about Well of Souls (http://www.synthetic-reality.com/wosHome.htm) I played this, I don't know when but it was on dial-up and ages ago.

Then LANs had their time. great fun playing at home, 150+ ping, then you go to a LAN and the difference was so huge it was worth lugging all your gear.

It was amazeballs.
You met people you wouldn't otherwise, had an actual physical community and good times.
I call that the beginning and then the rise of DSL the golden age of gaming (to me at least). Hell the latter is why I'm here, and why I've met half of the remainder of the main community.

Plus when you attend a large LAN event called 'one night stand' the looks you get on Monday morning when folks go "What did you do in the weekend?"
"Not much. Went to one night stand with 200 odd people there. Had a good time."

Duke Nukem was indeed mine too, Although I don't know if you'd call it online as it was LAN...We had some weird box (with giant pin connectors on the back, with a switch you flicked to A or B) that we used to connect our games up.

Still have it. Still no clue what it does.

My guess is it was a DB25 serial adapter with a null modem switch.

roflol, that was pretty much what a laplink cable was except you crossed over pins to make it a laplink cable instead of a printer cable.....





and then to transfer files we used Xtree gold

FWIW IPX/SPX isn't something you can see, it's a protocol like TCP/IP. You can probably run it over a variety of things but back in the day it was generally used over 10BASE2 or 10BASET (aka Thin Coax or 10mb Cat3)
