I thought adjusties need certs?

Car failed wof for certain things including uneven breaking at the rear, my mechanic quoted me $600 to fix cause both calipers needed an overhaul. My friends dad owns a wrecking yard and sorted me 2 calipers and pads in good cond for $100 and i just put them on myself. Saved $500 just like that.

Haha i reckon, they said water had caused the pitts which was making the piston leak and they were going to send it away to get all the rust machined out and a stainless steel plate and new seal placed in. 225 each + labour so 600.

Lol bro its simple as chips for me was just 2 bolts holding the caliper on, 1 for the brake fluid like and a bolt with a split pin for the handbrake + a bolt holding that bracket on. I just took wheel off and had a look and had a go, passed at the wof station :) easy.

Hard to screw up, unless you forget to put your brake pads back in or forget to connect your brake fluid line lol.

Or you get air in your brake line and have to bleed the whole system.

Taking off the brake line generally involves getting air in it!

If you take off the brake line, and then don't bleed it after replacing, you are a silly thing.

Replacing the pads is easy but a ceased piston, gah, fuck that. Besides, with the machining from the damaged disk/s and the bleed + new pads $400 to have some other bastard take care of it is a no brainer for me. :D

*sigh.
It's true. I no longer work on my own car. I don't even bother with oild changes even though it's a peice of piss.
I moved over here and don't have more than basic tools :(

If it redeems me, I rebuilt a 73 LTD, 351 from the ground up with my old man about 15 years ago. Black, low, and all GTHO running gear. My brother bought it off me and fucked it, but man, it was epicface.

What did you do to your vehicle today?

Was very similar to this.

I have done quite a few builds (old boy is a mechanic), usually I do/did all the panel beating and spray painting, really only got it sussed after maybe 4 or 5 goes at full re-sprays.
Only Acrylic, never did do a 3 pack job.
I fully intend to get my hands on a 71 V6 Capri over here and rebuild the sucker, then take it to Aus for mega profits or just a keeper.

Two new tyres for the c-rolla after I noticed the inside edge on one had been worn down to the canvas. So wheel alignment also. Then when driving back from Kaikoura the speedo stopped working, so that'll be something to do tomorrow.

I just swapped the discs off, my calipers weren't ceased, they were just leaking and breaking unevenly. In my case one side of the pad was being pushed onto the rotor. I just bought some calipers from a yard and swapped them over.
