Today I found that polished wet concrete corners and motorcycles make an interesting conbination.

Did you notice a big difference from 95? i run 95 on my 4age haha.

Yeah a small difference, only put 95 in it a couple times before. Usually run it on 91, and then 98 when I am having a laugh.

I spose it'd depend on your engine too. Mine's a small-port redtop so has a bit more compression than the older ones, and then the silver and blacks have even more compression respectively.

I ran 95 on my 4afe and it made a huge difference in lower gears. So I stuck to 95 from then onwards.

Got one of the rattles solved, the boot floor panel wasn't clicked in properly in two places ;DD

Replaced my power steering belt as it was slipping under pressure and causing what felt like frozen steering.

Went for a blat up the road, all good. Pull into garage. Smoke coming from engine bay. Lots of smoke. Open bonnet, power steering fluid reservoir almost empty. Oil everywhere, catching on fire.

Must have bumped something.

Pulled the engine mounts out, attacked them with a grinder and put them back in.

26" slicks, well semi-slicks. Seem to drop about 10 psi a week. Not as harsh a ride as the old 110psi ones, but you still feel the odd bump.

Booked my car into Joe Kyle Mechanic on monday, getting the cambelt done, plugs, service, ecu check and a general engine clean/lookover.

Looking forward to it.

Not exactly today but:

- bought a nz new import (last year)
- had a full service and cambelt change (full works)
- had a few casual tame road trips on sealed roads
- had a long distance, far north road trip off the beaten track
- got the car dirty for the first time ever (original owner included): http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/5tack/P3260145.jpg
What did you do to your vehicle today?

- Cleaned up afterwards.  No noticeable difference.
- had a lot of fun :)

Replacement Parts (all ex-UK):
Bumper Blade £335.15 ex VAT

Other bits - no idea, let the P&P guys sort that out.

Am picking it's going to be around $2.5 - $3k to remedy, but that's what her insurance is for.

Moral of the story - don't cut corners !

Not really. I find mine Very Wright (no, not Orville).

Haven't had a problem with my Golf yet. everything running fine, not too thirsty around town, great on road trips.

Nurse has just got herself a 1987 Volvo 360 GLT complete with cassette deck. It's a minter and a pleasure to drive.

Both our cars need minimal attention above and beyond the usual (tire pressure, liquids, fuel). I suppose we could wash them, but with water restrictions and sewerage still broken about the place, it's like a badge of honour to have a dirty car.

So, all I have done to my care today is drive it.

currently thinking about fixing hte stereo in the car - sound is only coming out of the front passenger speaker - the 3 other speakers have no sound coming out of them

have to decide if i can be bothered doing it myself or whether to take it into a car stereo place and get them to have a look at it

Shit.
I hope you kicked the old bat to the curb and possum stomped her false teeth out.
I joke.

What is that, an 70s-80s beamer? Looks like it has had a respray or a repair there already...
