Shit.
I hope you kicked the old bat to the curb and possum stomped her false teeth out.
I joke.

What is that, an 70s-80s beamer? Looks like it has had a respray or a repair there already...

I stood at a distance from my car, then casually and gingerly loafed around it, finishing my inspection with a light double tap on the back left tire with my right foot illustrating that I am happy with my cars current mechanical state and allowing on lookers to believe that I am well versed in vehicular maintenance.

Did you open the bonnet, and rub you chin with a thoughtful look on your face, then close it again?

No, my furrowed brow, slight head tilt, light hearted frown and a gentle but confused "hmmmm" was enough to conclude my inspection.

According to my fuel gauge, the first half of my tank does about 300 kms. The second half does 100kms.

Maybe I should install two fuel tanks and just use the first half of each? I'd triple my fuel economy!

The Triumph Stag is a great car, my father owned one of the first protypes for the Triumph TR2's, unfortunately he left it in Britain when he emigrated to NZ. He had Triumph cars all his life till he passed away, good memories apart from the odd "'Kangaroo gas"". in rural stations, for those not in the know was incorrectly labelled octane petrol affecting the cars performance resulting in juddering, stalling.

Just got my car back from the mechanics, sterling job. Replaced all the belts, new waterpump, oils and filters, and spark plugs. Turns out one of the coilpacks was earthing on startup, leading to the car only running on 5 cylinders for a duration.

Pulls harder, goes faster, no misfiring or flatspots. Over the moon that it's finally in top shape.

didn't hit anything, just a common issue with super strut, you have to replace the front suspension arms as the rubber in them only last about 150 000km and mine are well over due and I need to do an engine and gearbox oil change

My weekend:
-Oil change
-Pulled the remainder of the OEM stereo out (amp/cd changer in boot removed)
-Pulled apart the drivers door panel to repair some trim and assess the central locking
-Pulled apart the center console to wire the rear USB into the storage compartment between the front seats
-Got the paint repair quoted ($3000~, going to repair the entire cars paintwork plus replace the boot)
-Ordered coilovers.

Not a bad weekend really
